"The mask was never on around you.

I do hope you realize that. You looked well.

More than well. Fuck-"

Recovered Translated Corespondents Between Death Eater Mattheo Riddle, to Order Member Alexandra Brooks, 2003.

Hogwarts, 1997.

Alexandra.

"You think I'm the same as My father? Just because of my blood? No, no, Potter, it runs deeper than that. I have his talents, his ambitions, and believe me, I've considered every path—starting with yours."

I felt my breath hitch, just inches from him.

He has no idea I'm right here, hearing every word.

Seeing him look the most serious I've ever seen him.

"Is that a threat?" Harry questioned asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Call it what you want, but I can guarantee it won't end well for you. You might be the 'Chosen One,' but that doesn't mean you'll come out on top. In fact, in my books, its you who falls first."

Its amazing, how the truth will come to light, without you having to ever look for it.

Harry didn't falter, when saying, "Then do it. Show me what you've got. But know this: if you think you'll walk away unscathed, you're gravely mistaken."

A wicked look spread across Mattheo's face.

One I cant say I've seen before.

"Don't tempt me, Potter," Mattheo warned, his voice dripping with promise. "I won't have mercy on you if I need to act."

"Mercy?" Harry scoffed, backing away slightly, shaking his head, looking at me for a brief moment. "You wouldn't know mercy if it slapped you in the face," he shoved his hands in his pockets, a small smile tugging at his lips, "Just like Alex, doesn't know forgiveness. She never has. Isn't that right, Alex?"

I didn't intend to overhear this conversation, but now that I had, there was no going back.

None.

I felt like the ground had been pulled from beneath my feet.

Both Harry and Mattheo turned to me, surprise flickering across Mattheo's face while Harry leaned further back and smirked.

Harry was happy. More than happy.

I took a moment, to wipe the expression of shock from my face, and remember that Harry was in fact right in front of me.

And as badly as my right fist was begging to connect with Mattheo's jaw, I blinked instead.

Centering me back to my cold, harsh, ugly reality.

Mattheo was a death eater. Mattheo is nothing but loyal to his side. And he would undoubtably, take Harry out if needed.

That was more than enough for me, to push him out of my mind.

"Get the fuck out of here, Riddle." I scoffed, pushing past him and sitting next to Harry.

I couldn't even look at him.

"Brooks, I-"

He's got to be fucking kidding me.

In front of Harry, he's honestly trying to do this?

"Are you fucking deaf or just daft?!" I laughed, "I have no idea why the fuck you're looking for me, but don't ever do it again. You have absolutely zero reason too. Were not friends, not even acquaintances, so don't ever look for me again." I slammed my book open.
