Jaesung and you poured over Chaeyoung's case files once more, determination etched on both of your faces.

The latest attack had reignited your resolve to uncover the truth.

You had demanded guards to be stationed outside Chaeyoung's hospital room, ensuring her safety while you dug deeper into the mystery.

Jaesung leafed through witness reports, his brow furrowing as he read. "The descriptions don't match Chaeyoung at all," he muttered, a hint of confusion in his voice.

You leaned over, scanning the reports. Suddenly, it clicked. "Someone was controlling Chaeyoung while she was killing. But when she fell for me, it triggered them. It must have thrown off their plans."

Jaesung's eyes widened in realization. "Son Minseo," you both said simultaneously. Chaeyoung's mother fit the profile perfectly, manipulative and ruthless.

Without wasting a second, you and Jaesung rushed to the nursing home where Minseo was supposed to be.

The drive was tense, each moment feeling like an eternity as you replayed the events in your mind.

You knew that if Minseo was behind this, she was incredibly dangerous.

You stormed into the nursing home, flashing your badges. The staff quickly directed you to Minseo's room.

As you approached, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease.

You pushed open the door, only to find the room empty. The bed was neatly made, and there were no signs of recent occupancy.

"She's not here," you said, frustration boiling over.

Jaesung cursed under his breath. "We need to find her before she makes another move."

You both questioned the staff, but no one had seen Minseo leave.

It was as if she had vanished into thin air. You knew she was cunning, but you were determined to catch her.

Back at the hospital, you paced outside Chaeyoung's room, your mind racing.

You couldn't help but feel a surge of protectiveness for her and your unborn child.

You had to stop Minseo, not just for Chaeyoung's sake, but for your family's future.

As you stood there, lost in thought, Jaesung approached. "We'll find her," he assured you. "We just need to be smart about it."

You nodded, taking a deep breath. "We need to think like her. What would she do next?"

Jaesung considered your words. "She's probably hiding somewhere familiar, somewhere she feels in control."

"Chaeyoung's old house," you said, the realization dawning on you. "That's where she'd go."

Without wasting another moment, you and Jaesung headed to Chaeyoung's old house. The drive was tense, both of you on high alert.

When you arrived, you approached the house cautiously, your senses heightened. The front door was slightly ajar, and you exchanged a wary glance with Jaesung.

You pushed the door open, stepping inside. The house was eerily quiet, the only sound being the creak of the floorboards beneath your feet.

You moved through the rooms methodically, checking each one.

You entered the basement cautiously, your flashlight cutting through the darkness.

The beam landed on a figure tied to a chair, and you immediately recognized Georgina.
