The months had slipped by, each one bringing you and Chaeyoung closer to the arrival of your child.

Chaeyoung's pregnancy had reached its final stages, and she was in the hospital under careful observation.

Meanwhile, you continued your work, determined to bring an end to the nightmare that had plagued your lives.

Today, you were back at your old apartment, the place where so much had unraveled.

Jaesung was with you, both of you combing through the remnants of your life before everything turned upside down.

Jaesung had moved to the kitchen, leaving you to check the bedroom.

As you stepped into the room, a strange tension hung in the air, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

You tried to shake it off, focusing on the task at hand. But before you could take another step, you heard Jaesung shout from the kitchen.

"Y/N, watch out!" His voice was laced with urgency.

You spun around just in time to see Minseo charging at you, a knife gleaming in her hand.

Time seemed to slow as she closed in on you, her face twisted in a maniacal grin.

But before you could react, Jaesung barreled into the room, shoving you out of the way.

"No!" you screamed as you watched in horror.

The knife plunged into the side of his neck with a sickening sound, blood immediately soaking his collar.

He staggered, his eyes wide with pain and determination.

"Jaesung!" you cried, your heart clenching in fear for your friend.

Instinct took over. You pulled out your gun, aimed, and fired.

The shot echoed in the small space, and Minseo collapsed to the floor, a bullet hole square in her forehead.

She was dead before she hit the ground, the knife still protruding from Jaesung's neck.

You rushed to Jaesung's side, dropping to your knees as he crumpled against the wall, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

His hands clutched at the wound, blood seeping between his fingers.

"Don't take it out!" you begged, panic rising in your chest as you dialed for the paramedics with one hand, your other trying to apply pressure around the knife. "Stay with me, Jaesung! Help is on the way!"

He tried to smile, but it came out as more of a grimace. "It's okay...Y/N," he rasped, his voice weak. "You...you have to...finish this. Chaeyoung and the baby...they need you."

"Shut up," you snapped, your voice trembling as tears blurred your vision. "You're not going anywhere, Jaesung. You hear me? You're going to be fine!"

But Jaesung shook his head, his strength fading fast. "I've got no regrets," he whispered, his hand reaching up to clasp yours. "I'm glad...it was me and not you."

Tears streamed down your face as you held his hand, your heart breaking. "Don't talk like that," you choked out. "You're going to be okay, just hold on a little longer!"

But you could see the light fading from his eyes, his grip on your hand weakening.

The paramedics were on their way, but deep down, you knew they wouldn't be in time.

"Jaesung...please," you sobbed, leaning closer to him, your forehead pressed against his. "Don't leave me..."

He smiled one last time, his eyes softening. "Take care of them," he murmured, his voice barely audible. "Promise me..."
