"Sure, Megan. Yes, Im on my way! Geez." I said to my phone while I walked down the streets of New York.
Although I lived here for a while now, I could easily get lost wherever I wasn't familiar with. I was just walking to an apartment to meet my friend, Megan, because we haven't met in person lately. She was busy with her job, so as I at the hotel where I'm working as a receptionist, but we finally figured it out.
The weather was pretty cold today, so I wore a navy blue shirt under my long, dark brown coat with my usual jeans and Oxford shoes.
"Okay, I'll be there soon, I think I see your apartment already. Bye." I said goodbye to her and as I put my phone back to my handbag, I turned left on the sidewalk, when suddenly...
"Gary STOP!!" a man yelled , but all I could saw was a big golden retriever running towards me, jumps up to my torso and I fall down to the cold ground, hitting my head in the pavement really hard.
"Oouch!" was all I could say, while the dog licked my coat as I was still laying on the ground.
"Oh shit, are you okay? Please say something!" said the owner of the dog as he kneeled on my left.
I turned my head in his direction and scaredly blinked at him. He doesn't seem old, he could've been in his late thirties - early forties. He had dark brown hair so as his eyes. I have to admit, he was handsome...And a bit familiar but I didn't recognized him.
"Ugh, what?" I triend to pull myself up, but I got really dizzy. I relied on my left elbow, to face him and I reach for my head, beacuse I felt like somebody just shot me in the back of my head.
"Thank God, you're not fainted!" he looked released.
I pulled my hand from the back of my head to my eyes and... And I saw blood. My eyes widened, and so does the man's.
"Don't panic, Im calling the ambulance right now, don't move just..." he said but I already fainted because of the shock and my head hit the ground again.
I opened my eyes, and I saw a white ceiling. "I'm not home or at Megan's place" I thought. I blinked a couple times before I tried to touch my head where i felt the pain before, but it was bandaged. I sat up on the bed and I recognized the place. I was at the hospital.
"What the fuck happened to me?" I whispered to myself. I looked around in the room; there was a little drawer on my left, some machines and the infusion, bounded to my forearm. I turned right, cause I thought I heard someone familiar; and the man stand in the door, talking to a doctor."Is she gonna be okay?" he asked.
"Please calm down, Mr. Fallon, she'll be just fine." said the doctor.
"What the...I need to talk to them about what just happened on the street. Oh my God, Megan...I need to call her too. What's the time anyways?" I thought as I tried to pull myself up from the bed and walked towards the door. I completely forgot about the needle in my arm, so I screamed when I felt the sharp pain.
"Ooh God!!" I grabbed my arm immediately an sat back to the bed. "Shit."
"Are you awake already?" said the man while he walked towards me.
"Yeah... Why I'm here?" I asked, looking at him and the doctor behind him.
"There was an accident, um..." he started.
"You are in hospital, Miss Rivers. My name is Dr. Bradley Richards. Please, answer some of my
questions."
"Okay." I said.
"What is your full name?"
"Adele Catherine Rivers."
"When were you born?"
"9th of June, 1987."
"What day is today?"
"27th of October, 2015."
"How old are you?"
"28." I said.
