After I came home from work, I was pretty disappointed, because Jimmy didn't call me yesterday - although he promised me he will. I locked the door once I got inside and kicked off my shoes.
I stared at the roses on the coffeetable. I still didn't know what to do with them, or what to do with Seth's little messagecard, that he came along with the bouquet.
"I hope we could talk soon. Call me whenever you feel like. Seth F." said the little letter, with his number at the bottom.
I sighed in frustration many times before I leaned back on the couch. What should I do? I ask that a lot lately. But this time is different. He told me to be just friends and stuff, but now, I couldn't figure it out where to put this.
I dialed the first contact I usually call for advice.
"What's up?" said Megan after the third beep.
"Guess what." I started with a feigned emotionless tone.
"I'm bad at this game." she chuckled. "I gave up."
"You're making this too easy." I rolled my eyes. "I received a bouquet of roses from Seth. yesterday in the afternoon."
"Seriously?" gasped Megan. "Why didn't you call me immediately?!"
"I don't know." I stood up and started walk around the living room. "He sent his number too."
"Then why the hell you're talking to me? Go and call him!" she yelled.
"I didn't decide yet." I sighed.
"There's nothing to decide about. Shit, I gotta go."
"You working overtime again?" I furrowed my eyebrows, cause Megan usually works just like me, and she should've been home by this time.
"Yeah. I think I'll need a better paying job, cause I like expensive shit." she chuckled. "Bye."
"Bye." I said and hung up.
I decided to go for a walk quickly and forget everything. I grabbed my apartment keys, my coat - cause it was getting chilly out there. I pushed open the entrance, and the cold air filled my lungs as I inhaled. I looked around; people rushed on the sidewalk next to me, a couple of them almost shoved me away.
"Rude." I said under my breath as I tried to find my balance. I started walking in the direction where everyone was going since I didn't have an accurate destination. I just walked, looking around and memorizing the surroundings.
After a while, the sky started to change into a darker shade. I stopped, causing some people to bump into me and curse, and I turned around to head home. Although I wanted to go home, my eyes stick to a bunch of beautiful white cars on the other side of the road. I rushed to a pedestrian crossing and walked over to the fence with the cars behind it. The gates were wide open, behind the cars there was an office with huge windows on it, and a big sign; "Ford Dealership" it said with white letters on a red board, and some dude in a suit stood next to the subtitle, giving a thumbs up and the world's fakest smile I've ever seen. "He must be a wealthy douchebag." I thought and smiled. My eyes landed on a specific car and walked over to it.
"Wow." I whispered as I examined a really gorgeous Ford.
"You like it, ma'am?" asked an unknown male voice from behind me and I spun around.
The guy from the board I saw earlier stood in front of me in the same suit. "Yeah, it's really nice." I smiled politely.
"It's a Ford Mondeo Titanium." he placed his left hand on the vehicle's top. "Are you interested, Miss?"
"Um..." I thought about it for a moment. "Yes, I think I am." I said finally.
"Come on in." he pointed at the office and started walking in. I glanced at the dark sky and followed him inside.
"So..." he started, opened up his Macbook and typed something. "Ah, yes, I see. There it is."
He enumerated everything about the car, and I just stood awkwardly, nodded and smiled like I knew what he was talking about. Seriously, I'm a woman, how would I know these things?
"So, how much is this car costs?" I asked after he stopped.
"It's 47,490 $, Miss." he fleshed an award winning smile at me.
Wow, I would fake smile every fucking people around me if I had the skin on my face to ask fifty thousand for a vehicle.
"I see." I said and tried to fight against a snort. "I think I'll come back later."
"Okay, Miss. Have a great night." he smiled and opened the entrance door for me.
I walked out of the place and actually headed home this time. 49 thousand dollars. I tasted the price in my mouth and didn't like it. I needed some kind of vehicle, though I have no money for that car. "But it was soo nice." I whined.

As the sky was completely dark outside, I held my phone in my right hand and the little piece of paper from yesterday in my other hand, while staring outside the window. I already typed in the number, now I just had to get some courage to hit the call button.
Eventually I tapped on it, and regretted immediately as I pushed the device against my ear.
One beep...Two beep...
"Hello." greeted the familiar male voice.
"Hey, it's Adele." I tried to sound as confident as possible.
"Adele! I did not expect your call, to be honest." I could hear his smiling on the other side of the line.
"Really?" I asked curiously. "Then why did you sent me roses?" I thought.
"Yeah. Did you asked Megan or Ben for my number?" he said.
And that was the moment when the smile froze on my face.
"Seth. A delivery guy dropped a package yesterday and said it was from you." I said so quietly it sounded more like a whisper. "A bunch of rose with your number and a little message with it to call you."
There was a few moments of silence between us before he spoke. "But Adele, I don't even know where you live, and I swear I've never asked Megan for your address." he said with a bit shaky voice.
"Then...Who was it?"
***A/N***
