X sat down at the lunch table at work with Nine, who seemed surprised.
"X! Where have you been? You haven't stepped a foot out of your apartment for three whole days!" Nine exclaimed, waving their arms around. Six sat down next to Nine, sighing.
"Ignore her, she was just very worried about you." Six said, smacking the back of Nine's head.
"Ouch! And good afternoon to you too, love." Nine said, giving Six a small kiss on the cheek.
X giggled at their shenanigans. He stirred at his gravy with his spoon.
"Guys! Guys, I was just sick. Sorry for worrying you two." X laughed, spoon clinking softly against his tray. Nine frowned at him, and Six sighed, knowing what was about to happen.
"You mean you were sick for THREE WHOLE DAYS and didn't tell anyone? You could have reached out to me, to Six, to ANYONE!" Nine screeched. Six patted his girlfriend's back comfortingly.
"Nine, you're doing it again. Settle down, please." Six said softly. Nine slowly calmed down, leaning on Six.
"Sorry, I was just really worried. Seven wouldn't stop asking where you were!" Nine explained. X smiled at her before realizing what she said.
"Oh...Seven." X sighed. X and his brother didn't have the best relationship, due to Seven being deemed 'dorky' and X being deemed 'the runt'. Eventually X grew out of that mockery of course, but Seven always seemed held back by it.
Nonetheless, X was slightly touched that Seven had been this concerned.
"Tell him that I'm better now and that I said hi." X replied.
An awkward silence was brought to the table for a moment, but then Six broke it.
"So, X, where'd you get the new jewelry?" Six said, pointing to the blue necklace that X had on.
"I-uh, found it at the bottom of my stuff." X stated. "It reminded me of someone." X said the last part more quietly, and Six gave him a sad smile.
Nine however stayed oblivious, leaning over and squinting at the small, blue teardrop pendant at the end of the necklace.
"Oooo, it's pretty! Like the middle of an ocean, quiet and bubbly all the same!" Nine remarked cheerly, poking at the glass drop. Six chuckled, amused by his partner's excitement.
X smiled at the two before digging into his basic office lunch.
If only he could have this forever.
-
X sat in his bedroom, flopping down onto his bed.
That day had been exhausting.
X curled up into their covers, eyes shutting with exhaustion.
The last thing they heard was a dark chuckle.
"Sleep well, starlight~"
-
X woke up after a sound night's rest.
He yawned, reaching over and tapping his nightstand a couple times before realizing that his phone wasn't there.
He could've sworn he put it there.
X shrugged, brushing his teeth and combing his hair before searching for his phone. Today was a Saturday, so he had the free liberty to lay in bed and scroll through social media as he pleased.
Eventually, X found his phone laying on the kitchen counter, its screen bright with charge. X frowned at the oddity, but he was so relieved by the aspect of not having to work that he shook off his doubts.
X sat in bed, munching on some potato chips while scrolling through Twitter. He slowly relaxed himself.
At least, until he heard a bunch of noise from his kitchen.
He froze, silently putting down his phone and cautiously making his way towards the kitchen. He peeked around a wall only to realize that the noise was coming from his pantry.
Which had its door closed.
He inwardly groaned, wondering why he had to go through what was practically a horror movie scene on a Saturday of all days.
Nonetheless, X creeped towards the door, stopping at it before throwing it open as quickly as he could.
Inside his pantry, as proof of the noise, was a single metal bowl that slowly spinned to a stop on the floor.
This caused X to get more worried, so he, naturally, looked up.
Aaand saw nothing.
...This didn't really work like a movie, did it?
X sighed, retreating back to the comfort of his bed.
Hopefully it was nothing and he was just imagining things.
...Right?
