X, after a couple of weeks, was discharged from the hospital with a cast around his arm and a nick in his ear. Nine, out of goodwill, drove him home, which he was grateful for.
"Thanks Nine, you really didn't have to." X murmured, stepping out of her car. Nine laughed brightly, waving him off.
"You're so silly, X! I didn't have to, but I wanted to!" Nine giggled. X smiled faintly.
"I know, but thank you anyway. Have a nice picnic with Six." X backed away slowly. Nine grinned at him, waving as she pulled the car out of his complex driveway.
"You're welcome! I'll send you pictures!" Nine shouted, driving away. X waved as his friend disappeared from view, sighing as he made his way up the stairs. He fumbled with his keys, opening the door with one hand, when he was suddenly attacked by a hug from Two.
X yelped, losing balance slightly, but Two held on tight, keeping the both of them upright.
Two backed away, guilt pooling in his gaze at the sight of X's wounds. "I saw the news- are you okay?" Two questioned.
"I'm as okay as I can be- I got a couple days more off of work to heal." X admitted, walking into the apartment. Two closed the door behind the human, tail twitching.
"Ooh, how long?" Two asked. X paused.
"Uh, maybe like, 1 month?"
Two shrieked in excitement, and X smiled.
At least someone was excited to have him back.
-
X was watching on the TV with Two, bored out of his mind.
The first week or two of break had been fun, but it had slowly descended into the both of them sitting silently in each other's company.
He zoned out, mindless scrolling through social media while Two was occupied with some reality show.
Had One kept their promise?
Had he even seen One, or was it just a dream?
His thoughts froze once he felt a shadow fall over him, and he looked up to see Four. He yelped, falling off his couch. Two tilted his head to eye Four boredly.
"Where've you been?" Two asked, raising an eyebrow. Four glared at him, and X scrambled to sit up.
"None of your business, Two." Four hissed, hostility dripping off his voice. Two seemed slightly taken aback by Four's aggression, but the green deity decided to ignore it, sighing and turning back towards the TV.
"Four...?" X questioned hesitantly. Four's icy glare refocused on the human, and X flinched.
"Talk. Now." Four growled. The blue deity grabbed X by the arm, dragging him into his bedroom. X tried to fight back, wincing slightly and the sharp claws pricking at his undamaged arm. He eventually went limp when he was suddenly pushed. X caught himself single-handedly on his white-yellow bed, looking up at Four.
Oh boy, the demon was angry.
"What the fuck did you do?" Four hissed. Confusion flashed though X's mind, and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"I- what?" X adjusted, wincing at the bruises on his uncovered arm. Four was strong.
"You made a deal with One. Why? Start. Talking." Four growled, taking a step forward.
Holy shit.
Had One actually kept their end of the bargain?
"Four, I-" X stuttered, looking down at his hands. Four strode forward, grabbing X's face and forcefully jerking it upward to connect their eyes.
