Silence envelopes the three of you, standing in the middle of a convenience store down the lane as each one of your gaze shifts from one to the other.

you weren't ready to encounter anyone so you've got nothing to say, the words don't come out of your mouth because you don't know what to say and it wasn't just you, Jungkook seems to be uncomfortable too as he stands beside you, holding the bag of pasta as he shifts from one foot to the other.

"Hobi... I'm sorry that you had to see me like this-" You mumble under your breath, feeling the tension in the air thickening. If none of you speak up now, the silence will become suffocating. Jungkook glances at you and frowns,

'why did you apologize? Why does it matter that an employee of his office and a past colleague of yours deserve an apology—for simply passing you at a general store?'

Hoseok shakes his head as he looks down at his feet. "no- no Y/n you don't have to be" "Yeah, you don't have to be sorry. it doesn't make any sense now, does it, Mr Jung?"

Jungkook intrudes as Hoseok speaks and you turn to meet the man beside you, for some reason is being too defensive. Hoseok frowns and puts his head down at Jungkook's words because whatever it may be, he's still an employee that works for Jeon. "I'm sorry that we had to meet like this, especially after I've been avoiding you for months. That's what I meant." you gaze at Jungkook who now clenches his jaw as he looks straight ahead.

the tension that surrounds the air was unknowingly too heavy, and for what reason? you three don't know or maybe you do. Jungkook's defensiveness and annoyance come from the bond that his employee and you share, his mind shows flashbacks of how you giggled and laughed at Jung's antics and how you were often called 'cheesecake' by the man.

On the other hand, you felt embarrassed to meet Hoseok like this—pregnant and not because of the bump itself, but because you had kept your friend in the shadows and avoided him intentionally. Hoseok's visions were right, you are pregnant. "Hey Hobi, I- 'm sorry for not responding to your texts. you... don't deserve that." you felt guilty for your actions, he was kind and would always text you about your well-being and if you were doing okay but you left him on seen. "hey, that's okay. I know you have your... reasons."

he looks down at your bump as takes your hand in his and caresses the back of it with his thumb, a soft smile on his face, it suits him. you think. only a smile suits Hoseok's face, you've forgotten how beautiful he looks. you nod your head, a 'yeah' leaves your lips and a tightened smile follows after. "you know, I'm an expert in desserts now and I think I make better ice cream than Ben & Jerry's." "that's for me to judge."

you laughed and Hoseok's grin got wider. Jungkook sighs, waiting till you are done with this conversation. "trust me. my chewy gooey ice cream is better than store-bought." Jungkook's eyebrows knit together when he hears something familiar. that's your favorite ice cream. he realizes as he presses his lower lip with his teeth, he can't take this conversation anymore.

"please!!! don't say it to me when you can't make them!" you pout suddenly craving his handmade delicious sweets. "who said I can't? of course, I would love to make them for you." he says softly, his eyes light up at the way you speak to him like nothing ever happened as if nothing changed. he's so glad that you're cool and what happened a few minutes ago hadn't ruined anything. "you can?"

"of course, y/n. you don't know how much I've been wanting you to try them out." you chuckle and look at your feet before meeting his eyes. Jungkook can't believe what he's seeing and hearing. 'have they forgotten that I'm right here?' he thinks and heaves a sigh as he interrupts you both. "it's too late, let's get home y/n." Hoseok scowls and looks at his boss before you. "home-?" "yeah home."
