Chapter 6

Naalimpungatan siya at napatingin sa labas. She picked up an unusual scent and upon seeing that Liwayway was sleeping soundly, she used her magic to quietly go outside. Once outside, she carefully examined her surroundings, sharpening her senses of smell and sight. The midnight silence was intense, making every small sound and movement more noticeable.

Dahan-dahan na naglakad siya at sinusundan ang naririnig na mahihinang ungol at kaluskos. It's like someone is hurt. Due to her trainibg everyday, her sense of smell and sense of hearing become intense and strong that she can hear and smell for a long distance. Mabilis na napantingin siya ng makarinig ng kaluskos. She sighed when she saw a squirrel running away. Pinagpatuloy niya naman ang paghahanap sa kanina pa niya naririnig.

She immediately ran over when she saw a deer lying on the ground, bloodied and wounded. Her brow furrowed as she noticed claw marks all over its body and its weak breathing. She placed her hands over the deer and began to heal it. Seeing the wounds slowly close, she gently stroked its fur.

"You're okay now." Sabi nito dito.

Ilang sandali lamang ay tumayo na ito at tumakbo. Pinagpag niya naman ang kanyang puting bestida at tumayo.

"Why are you here in the middle of the night?" Napaigtad siya ng marinig ang boses ng isang lalaki.

Lucius.

"W-what are you doing here?" Balik tanong niya dito.

"I'm guarding someone." Napatango naman siya ng maalala ang sinabi nito.

"I-I just sense someone is hurt." Sabi niya dito at nagsimula ng maglakad.

The moonlight bathed his face in a soft, silvery glow, highlighting the contours of his features and casting a gentle light on his gray eyes. The pale luminescence made his eyes shimmer with an ethereal quality, reflecting the quiet beauty of the night.

He really looks like a God. Napalunok na lamang siya at iniwas ang tingin dito.

"Babalik na ako." Paalam niya dito.

"I'll go with you." Tumango na lamang siya.

Habang naglalakad sila ay walang may nagsasalita sa kanilang dalawa. The silence is deafening. The wind blows and it swept away her long way hair. Inayos niya naman iyon. Nilingon niya si Lucius and he was looking at her intently. Those piercing gray eyes. Mabilis na umiwas siya ng tingin dito.

"Dito na lang ako." Sabi niya dito at tumigil na.

Ilang metro na lang ay nasa boundary na siya ng Elderglen. Tanaw niya ang liwanag na nanggagaling dito.

"Salamat." Ngumiti siya dito at akmang aalis na ng hawakan nito ang kamat niya.

She felt a jolt of electricity when their skin touched. She stopped and noticed her heart racing uncontrollably as she looked at his hand gripping her wrist gently. Afraid that it might hurt her.

She can't speak because her heart is racing so fast, overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment. She's likely feeling this way due to a powerful emotional or physical reaction triggered by their touch.

"Elara." He said calling her name in his low baritone voice.

"W-what?" Nauutal na tanong niya at tinaas ang kanyang tingin.

Their eyes locked, and she noticed an intense emotion in his gray eyes that she couldn't decipher. His jaw tightened, and just as she was about to look away, he spoke.

"Don't look away, Elara." His voice is serious. It's not commanding. It's like he's speaking to her... softly?

"What's wrong? I need to go back baka magising si Liwayway." She said. She silently thanks herself dahil hindi siya nautal.
