Chapter 1

"Elara, bilisan mo!" The tiny voice called her.

I ran as fast as I could, looking around to make sure no one saw me. Once I an certain that I was alone, I lowered my head and used my magic to escape through the barrier.

I burst into laughter at Liwayway when she successfully stepped out. I followed Liwayway into the bush.

"Hintayin mo ako, Liwayway!" Natatawang sigaw niya habang inaabot ito but Liwayway flew higher, making it impossible for me to reach her. "That's unfair!" Liwayway just stick out her tongue at me.

I jumped and tried to reach the fruit, but my brows furrowed when I couldn't grab it. Liwayway picked the fruit with no problem. I smiled when I handed it to her and then sat on a large stone to eat it while Liwayway fluttered around, singing.

"Liwayway, sa tingin mo kailan kaya ako papayagan ni Amang sumama kina Vesto?" I asked while biting the fruits.

Liwayway just snorted and rolled her eyes at me.

"Kapag marunong ka na makinig sa Inang at Amang mo." Napanguso siya dahil sa sinabi ni Liwayway.

"Marunong naman ako ah..." Mahinang usal niya pero nadinig pa din ito ng kasama.

"Tumakas ka na naman nga eh!" She said loudly in her cute tiny voice.

I stood up and tried to catch her playfully, but Liwayway just flew higher and higher to avoid me.

"Hindi mo naman ako isusumbong di ba?" I asked in my pitiful voice that made Liwayway roll her eyes again.

"Hmp!" Liwayway, a small, mischievous pixie with delicate wings looked away with an angry expression and crossed her arms. Despite her feigned annoyance, her charm made her look irresistibly cute.

Since I was little, Liwayway had always been with me. Aside from Mira, Liwayway was the closest companion I had in Elderglen.

"Bumalik na tayo, Elara!" Aya ni Liwayway at nauna na ito sa kanya. "Hinahanap ka na siguro ni Waya." Napasimangot naman siya marinig ang pangalan ng guro niya.

Waya Clasper is my master. She taught me archery, swordsmanship, and how to control my magic. As my mother's right-hand and a respected warrior, Waya is known for her strength and skill.

"Liwayway, did you feel it?" I stopped and scan the surrounding but I didn't see anyone.

I feel like someone is looking at us and observing us.

"Let's go, Elara!" She heard the seriousness in Liwayway's voice. So, she did feel it too.

I had a great sense of smell, but I couldn't detect if anyone was around. I just shrugged it off. It might have been my imagination. Nagpatuloy na siya sa pagtakbo at paghabol kay Liwayway dahil nauna na itong lumilipad. Napalingon na naman siya ulit ng maramdaman ang mga titig na iyon.

I activated my magic when we were in the barrier. Mabilis naman na pumasok sila ni Liwayway. I let out a heavy sighed when I saw the castle. The castle sat high above the trees on a cliff. Its tall towers reached into the sky, and ivy covered its walls. It looked like it is floating among the clouds, casting shadows over the forest below.

When I walked around, they immediately bowed their head. Kaya ayaw niya na naglalagi siya doon. I don't like it if they act like I am a royalty. But I'm a royalty. That's why they always show their respect to me.

"Lady Elara, Master Waya is waiting in the library." Tumango siya at ngumiti dito.

Naglakad siya sa mataas na hagdan habang nakasunod naman si Liwayway sa kanya. Nang nasa pinto na siya sa harapan ng library ay kinalma niya ang kanyang sarili. I needed to act like a royal. One of the lessons taught by Waya.
