KJ's ex plays a HUGE part of her lore. KJ has dated around 20 guys however none of them turned out the way they did. That all changed when she met her last ex, Bruce. He played a wolf in sheep's clothing act, as he's emotionally mentally and a few times physically abused her.

He's cheated on her many times, and manipulated her into staying. The rare times she would manage to leave, he would come back crying that he's changed, making her get back with him. He didn't believe in her rapping career stating "she would make more money if she was selling her body." He's threatened to leave her many times, with him being the reason or her abandonment and possessive issues and urges. This would cause her to cry and beg that she'll do better and be better. He always spoke how no one would love her the way he did.

The final straw was when KJ finally left after constant abuse. This relationship plays a part of who she is, an brash and bold girl as KJ, but deep down as Kaji, she's just an vulnerable girl.

During KJ'S song "Love" where she sings aside Pico, she sings about "Could this be called Love" questioning how Love is suppose to be. This song hides a deeper meaning with it's upbeat tone, but when listening closer you realize she's singing about Bruce. The night they broke up, he would call her and text her constantly, going from crying to yelling at her through voice memos. She was stuck between missing Bruce, until she moved on eventually years later. Her song is an call of hesitation, as she wants to fall back in love (With Pico) but doesn't know What's Love or not.

This also dealt with her possessive behavior, including her jealously. As she's a hopeless romantic, she's very keen on friendships and when she feels like someone is going to leave her, grows emotional. However this emotion can be aggression due to not wanting people to see her weaker side because she's known as "brash and brawn KJ." and nothing effects her.
She has a hard time apologizing first, most likely the one to starts fights, and builds a wall to protect herself. She never opens up to anyone, the lucky few being Pico, BF, GF, and at the time Bruce, who she thought she could trust. The rare time she does open up, she'll have to hold a LOT of trust in you.

KJ is also known for her very explicit love songs, but despite being explicit just wants an loving relationship. Until she meets Pico, she's an changed person and the both of them being each others firsts for everything. She appreciates Pico dearly, whenever it's cheering him on or wearing his merchandise. Even if she may purposely be flirty with him and tease him time to time, he's all she could ever ask for.

As for Bruce, he makes an appearance in KJ's date week with Pico, as Bruce battles and tries to kill Pico to take KJ back.
