just showing off the sketches of Ryu's friend's that take place in his story! It's an AU i made where it's 2026, and the death note falls again but into the hands of someone unknown who starts the killings again as Kira.

first up is his best friend, Makoto!

Makoto is 18 during this time. He took notice of Ryu in middle school, though the two would never interact with each other until their freshman year of high school. Makoto considers Ryu as his best friend, though he's an bit shy around if Ryu sees him as the same (Though Ryu does, Makoto claims it's no problem to him if he doesn't.)

His plot of the story is helping Ryu find out who the new "Kira' is, with his smarts and brains he's pretty much the labelled "nerd" of the group, or as which Haru titles him to be.

Makoto is described to be an very kind, considerate and friendly guy. He's always helping around even if someone doesn't need it, being an pretty extroverted person. He can be an bit clumsy as he talks out in the middle of class, or if it points out something wrong. However, he can be pushed to his limits if he is threatened or if his friend are in danger, Makoto holds no hesitation to protect him or the others around him. He stands up for what's right, and always respects opinions.

Makoto is one of the last standing of his group of friends after the death of both Ryu and Haru.

and lastly his other friend, Haru!

Haru is 17 at this time, but during the course of her story she's to turn 18 in an few months. She didn't meet Makoto or Ryu until her sophomore year of High school, where Makoto defended her from some bullies. She's the only girl in the group, and being the outspoken person she is.. embarrasses the boys sometimes. She dreams to be an idol, similar to her idol Misa Amane, going as far as to copy her hairstyle from her dedication.

Her plot of the story is to help Ryu find out the new "Kira.", and with her clever tactics and flirty aura, she's capable of making sure she gets her way.

Haru is described to be an kind, ditzy and cheerful girl who always has an smile on an face. For those who know Haru, know she's always laughing and never shuts up for an second being an talkative and hyper active girl. She enjoys gossiping and writing about boys in her journal, much to her two friends disgust. Haru can also have somewhat of an temper mostly expressing with this Makoto who pushes her over the edge the most. Knowing Haru personally, know she's more insecure deep down having change her appearance to get people to like her more.

SPOLIERS

Haru dies in the line of Ryu's story, having got her life taken from finding out and exposing the true Kira. She's found by both Makoto and Ryu in her room.

- the two serve as potential love interest for Ryu
- After Ryu dies, Makoto is the one to bury his body right beside his mother.
- Ryuk does make an return in his story, as he meets Ryu after YEARS only last seeing him as practically an baby.
- Makoto does nearly die in the story in Ryu's arms.
- Haru and Makoto describe Ryu to have an very pretty smile.
- Makoto sometimes has to do or help Ryu with his homework since he's so busy with his detective work. Although Ryu is an straight A student and can do it himself..
- Haru fashions around gothic and gyaru style. She forces the boys to copy the similar style when she makes them go shopping
- The two of them are aware of Ryu's powers and his passing down of "Angel of Death."
- They are also aware he is the son of "L" and "Lolita" both of them being popular in Japan for their legends. Ryu is quite popular in school for this, but rather stays away from the popularity as he doesn't want it to "rotten his brain."

also I just found out yesterday that Ryukensai has "Ryuk's" fucking name in it and I went crazy. Deadass was not intentional at all it just surprised me. Ryuk definitely compares himself to Ryu, much to Ryu's annoyance.
