♥ The Bedroom ♥

Coby stepped into her assigned room, and her breath caught in her throat at the sheer beauty of it. The room was far more luxurious than she had imagined. The first thing that drew her attention was the bed—a king-sized masterpiece that dominated the space, draped with soft, white linens and a plush comforter. The headboard was an intricately carved piece of wood, stained a deep, rich brown, adding a touch of classic elegance to the modern room.

To the side, there was a large window that stretched from the floor all the way up to the ceiling—a floor-to-ceiling window—that was, offering a stunning view of the balcony just beyond. The balcony itself was spacious, with a couple of wrought-iron chairs and a small table, making it the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a morning coffee while overlooking the estate's beautifully manicured grounds. The light streaming in through the window gave the room an airy, inviting feel.

Opposite the bed stood a massive closet, its dark wood polished to a glossy finish. The woodwork was impeccable, with fine details carved into the doors that hinted at the craftsmanship behind it. The handles were sleek and modern, a perfect blend of function and form. Coby ran her fingers along the smooth surface, feeling the quality of the material beneath her touch.

On the wall opposite the window, a large, flat-panel display was mounted—a piece of cutting-edge technology that Stefan had likely installed. The device was known as the Ambiance Frame, and it was designed to display high-definition nature images that could be customized to suit the mood of the room. At that moment, the screen showed a serene image of a waterfall cascading through a lush, green forest, the sound of gentle flowing water playing softly in the background.

Coby marveled at the Ambiance Frame before turning her attention to the door that led to the bathroom. She pushed it open and gasped softly as she stepped inside. The bathroom was enormous, with gleaming tiled walls and floors that reflected the soft, ambient light overhead. The tiles were a calming shade of pale gray, accented with white grout, giving the space a clean, modern feel.

To her left was a spacious shower, enclosed by a glass door with a simple, modern design. The showerhead was large, promising a luxurious experience with its rainfall effect. A shower curtain in a soft shade of blue was pulled to one side, adding a pop of color to the neutral space.

The basin was mounted on a marble countertop, with a large, framed mirror above it that reflected the room's elegance. The mirror was backlit, giving off a soft glow that added warmth to the space. Beside the basin, neatly folded white towels were stacked on a shelf, with a pair of bathroom flip-flops placed just below. The toilet was modern and sleek, with a quiet flush mechanism. A small, discreet hanger was mounted on the wall, ready for bathrobes or towels.

Coby couldn't help but smile as she took it all in. This was luxury on a level she had never experienced before. She walked back into the bedroom, her eyes scanning the room once more, taking in the details—the plush rug beneath the bed, the soft lighting from the elegant fixtures, the sheer curtains that framed the large window.

After a few moments, she decided to head downstairs. She found Stefan sitting on the couch, his leg crossed over the other, casually flipping through a magazine. He looked up as she entered, setting the magazine aside.

"Comfortable?" he asked, though his tone was more indifferent than concerned.

"Yes, very," Coby replied, nodding slightly.

"Good," Stefan said, standing up and walking over to her. "I have a few things to go over with you. First, be mindful of how you use the kitchen. I'm particular about keeping things in order. Don't make a mess, and if you do, clean it up immediately. And remember, I expect meals to be on time."

Coby nodded, absorbing his instructions. Stefan's tone was firm but not harsh, though she could tell he wasn't someone to be taken lightly.

"And one more thing," Stefan continued. "There's no food in the house right now. I'll need you to go grocery shopping, but I'm not comfortable giving you my credit card just yet. Send me your bank details, and I'll transfer some money to cover the expenses."

"How much should I get?" Coby asked, trying to be professional.

"Whatever you think is necessary to stock the kitchen. I'll transfer a decent amount—let's say $1,500. That should cover everything."

Coby's eyes widened slightly at the amount but she quickly masked her surprise. "Okay, I'll take care of it."

Stefan nodded. "Good. I'm going upstairs to get ready for work. I'll leave you to settle in." With that, he turned and made his way up the stairs, leaving Coby standing in the middle of the living room.

Once he was out of sight, Coby let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. She glanced around the spacious living room once more before heading to the corner where she had left her suitcase. She grabbed the handle and began dragging it toward the stairs.

The suitcase was heavy, and getting it up the stairs was a challenge. She grunted as she struggled to lift it over each step, the wheels clattering loudly against the wood. Halfway up, she had to pause to catch her breath, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

"This better be worth it," she muttered to herself, glancing up the remaining steps with determination.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Coby managed to haul her suitcase into her room. She let out a sigh of relief and immediately began unpacking. She opened the closet, marveling again at its size, and started hanging up her clothes. She arranged her dresses, tops, and jackets neatly, making sure everything was organized by color and type.

In the lower section of the closet, she placed her sneakers and a few pairs of boots, lining them up carefully. She even took the time to arrange her toiletries in the bathroom, setting them on the marble countertop next to the basin. Her toothbrush and toothpaste went into a sleek holder, while her face creams and lotions were placed in a neat row along the edge of the sink.

Once everything was in place, Coby stepped back to admire her work. The room was starting to feel more like her own, a little piece of comfort in this vast, intimidating mansion. She sat down on the edge of the bed, running her hand over the soft comforter, and took a moment to relax before heading back downstairs.

This was just the beginning of her new life here, and as overwhelming as it was, she was determined to make the most of it.
