♥ The Past Came Crawling Back ♥
Stefan had planned to spend the entire day with Coby, just the two of them enjoying each other's company. The morning had been peaceful, and he was looking forward to a relaxed afternoon together. As he stepped out of his car, a faint smile on his lips, Todd came rushing up to him, a look of panic on his face.
"Mr. Reynolds!" Todd called out breathlessly.
Stefan, immediately on alert, turned to Todd, noticing the urgency in his voice. "What's wrong?" he asked, his tone serious.
"It's Tessa," Todd said, pointing toward the house. "She came here. She's inside."
"What?!" Stefan's eyes widened in disbelief.
His gaze shifted quickly to the driveway, where he noticed a sleek, unfamiliar car parked—a sure sign of Tessa's presence.
"Why did you let her in?" Stefan demanded, his voice laced with frustration. But before Todd could explain, Stefan was already sprinting toward the front door, his heart pounding with anger and dread.
As he entered the house, the scene that greeted him was nothing short of chaotic. In the middle of the living room, Coby and Tessa were locked in what could only be described as a full-blown catfight. Coby, normally so composed, had a firm grip on Tessa's fiery red hair, pulling with all her might. Tessa, on the other hand, was screaming at the top of her lungs, her face contorted with rage as she tried to free herself, flailing her arms wildly.
"You crazy bitch, let go of my hair!" Tessa shrieked, her hands desperately clawing at Coby's to release her hold.
"You have no right to be here!" Coby shot back, her own voice rising as she yanked harder, clearly not backing down.
The scene was almost surreal, with both women completely absorbed in their battle, neither willing to relent. The room echoed with Tessa's curses and Coby's determined grunts, creating a cacophony of chaos.
Suddenly, Tessa managed to push Coby with all her strength, sending her stumbling backward. Time seemed to slow as Coby lost her balance, her eyes widening in shock. She hit the floor with a thud, her hand instinctively going to her belly.
"Coby!" Stefan yelled, his voice filled with panic as he rushed to her side, all thoughts of Tessa momentarily forgotten. He knelt beside her, his heart in his throat. "Are you okay?" His hands hovered over her, unsure of where to touch, his concern evident.
Tessa, still reeling from the scuffle, noticed Stefan for the first time and a wide smile spread across her face.
"Stefan! Thank God, you're here!" she exclaimed, her tone shifting instantly to one of relief.
But Stefan's expression was anything but welcoming. He snapped his head toward Tessa, his eyes flashing with anger.
"What the hell are you doing here, Tessa?" he barked, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife.
Tessa's smile faltered, but she quickly recovered, pouting slightly. "I just wanted to see you, Stef."
Stefan ignored her, his focus returning to Coby. He gently helped her to her feet, his arm steadying her.
"Coby, please go upstairs," he urged softly, his voice laced with concern. "I'll handle this."
Coby, still shaken, looked up at him, confusion and hurt in her eyes. "Who is she, Stefan? Why is she here?" she demanded, her voice trembling slightly.
