BALA POV

My parents wanted me to get wedded off but not be in a marriage, I was able to make that out from their behaviour.

My mother, she sent me off to my husband's home while cackling and showing off her witty comentary and I can clearly see her amusement to kick me out.

During the appaginthalu ( vidhai) my mother engulfed me , the hug which should be comforting but felt as if I hugged a hedgehog.

She gently moved towards my outer ear and whispered.

"You are nothing to me now, my task was make sure you're in a man's hands and I finished it. Even if he slaps you, scolds you or else takes your life, I'll not stand for you. Please him and don't use your brain over there. "

She got back from the hug and despite me agitating to get out of her hold , she held me tightly raised her eyebrow and gave a wide grin to me.

I turned my head office to the other side only to see Shreyansh bava, being lost as if he has departed from happiness.

I sat inside the car and waited for him to join me.

I didn't look at any direction, I felt intimidated just by the fact that he'll be around me for the rest of life.

Suddenly I felt a jerk as the car started moving.

My mouth opened and I kept hand on my chest.

I looked around and the driver started the car without bava getting in.

My eyes welled up and I gulped down.

"Hey.. annayyya...adi car lo.. aayana.."

(Hey..brother...in the car...my husband...)

The driver turned back while his grip on the steering wheel tightened.

"Annayyya!?!?? evariki andi? Meeku ayithe nenu varasaku annayya kade! "

(Brother!?!?? For whom? But for you, I'm not your brother as per the relation.)

The hand which was on Bala's chest moved upwards and she kept her hand on her mouth .

"Aiyooo! Sorry bava...meere ani telidu "

(Uhhhnoooo...Sorry..I didn't know that you were that person)

Author's POV

He hummed and started driving whereas she was feeling hungry and was drooling at the outside stalls which were selling mokkajonna (corn/ bhutta)

She was amazed just by looking at them and it was apparently visible on her face.

He slightly tilted towards side to look into the mirror which has the reflection of her kajal filled eyes and the way her pupil was expanding and contrasting.

He lowered his head for a while and accepted that her eyes will haunt her and unapologetically he's ready to be her prey.

They reached the home and  still she was watching "what I eat in a day " shorts on YouTube.

"Bala..padaa..intiki vochesam.."

(Bala..our home arrived.. let's get in.)

She nodded and got down while her heart was just telling her to escape and move to a place which is certainly unknown for her.
