"Sweeeets"
Rohith came while declaring and forwarded the sweets to his team.
"What's special Rohith? "
Asked Anusha with a ton of excitement in her tone.
All this time, Avani was sitting alone on her table and was reading few emails online.
She was never given attention unless her help was needed.
Although she never overheard their conversation, but this time Rohith was screaming at the top of the lungs.
"Anusha!!! Don't you know that Akash sir is engaged? "
As soon as she heard, Anusha gasped loudly.
"You.....you're lying!!! Jokes are not meant to hurt. Telling me you're lying. "
"Why would I lie? Am I his girlfriend or something? "
He said while looking at Avani with his one eye and was waiting for Avani's reaction.
To his disappointment, her face was emotionless.
He furrowed his eyebrows after not getting the reaction he wished for.
"Avani... Why don't you..have one? "
Rohith forwarded the sweets.
"Sorry, I'm allergic to sweets. "
Avani spatted back and tried to get back to her work.
It was around lunch time and she thought of checking whether the news was fake or not.
She googled it.
Unfortunately, it was true.
Although their photos weren't up, the news was confirmed by the esteemed news channels.
Avani's throat dried up, she gulped .
She decided that she'll call him once, if he lifts the call , no problem she'll try to sort things.
But if he won't, she was determined that she would rather die single but will never speak to him.
She called.....
He didn't lift.
"Akash......Bye. "
She said while holding her tears back.
She said those bitter words to herself and gulped .
She left the office without any reason.
She sat in the auto and her eyes we're fixed outside.
"I thought I was his... Love, but now, I feel..I was just a tissue paper. Use and throw"
Avani closed her eyes and tears flowed down her chin.
She wiped them immediately.
"I was never his. I wish I realized it earlier that men were and ARE selfish!!!"
"Just the same way my mother got fooled and impregnated , I was on the same path... Somehow, I survived. "
Suddenly the climate worsened and it started drizzling.
The wind blew and few droplets hit her face which resulted in making her shiver.
She wiped off her tears and rain droplets at the same time.
