All that glitters isn't gold -Inanimate Insanity AU-

-Less-skilled, outdated and useless-

Grumbling silently to himself, MePhone4 begrudgingly walked down the cold hallways of Meeple. Cobs sent him out on more collection tasks... it was so stupid. But the aching pain that lingered in his face reminded MePhone4 what happened to those who stepped out of line.. It was so stupid that the robot had to be reminded. You would think he already learnt this lesson- but no- of course not- when did he ever learn from his mistakes?!

Maybe.. his failure to remember came from the years he spent away.. the years that let him develop and find some sense of self-respect.. but none of that mattered in Meeple. MePhone4 had to keep telling himself that Cobs didn't care that MePhone4 thought of himself as sentient. All Cobs wanted was a good worker- a hard worker- a robot that listen and carried out orders with proficiency. If MePhone4 did that- continuously for the rest of his robot life- MePhone4 would be fine. He wouldn't get hurt- Cobs wouldn't get mad... maybe he'll even be proud... if only..

Sighing, MePhone4 checked up on the statuses of his current tasks... Cobs sent him down to collect a few reports from different departments in the MeCloud. Not a very pleasant task, as that meant he had to interact with Meeple employees. And from his experience... they weren't nice. Sometimes they were even worse then Cobs- at least Cobs had moments when he treated MePhone4 delicately. With these employees- they didn't care- he wasn't their creation- he was just one of the many robot servants their boss makes...

At least that kept them from laying a finger on him... if they broke him, they'll have to pay for damages. And they'll probably also get fired for damaging company property... property... that's all he has been reduced to. Or maybe he always has been property... just lost property.. misplaced.. broken.. none of this matters. No matter where he went Organic Objects would still see him for what he is- hell even the contestants did sometimes- they only saw his value in what skills he had and how useful they were to manipulate. 

But that's always what his worth was determined by.. so what did it matter now?

MePhone4 went down the hallway that led to the elevators, however before he got to close. He was unfortunate enough to stumble into MePhone14pro, who rudely stepped out in front of him, completely out of the blue. The nerve of this newer model sometimes...

"Oi!" MePhone4 spat, stumbling back, grateful that they hadn't fully collided. Thus his body didn't receive anymore dents. "Watch where you are going?! You're gonna kill me one day."

MePhone4 dusted himself off, mumbling a few profanities as he regarded the newer model angrily. 

MePhone14pro scoffed, eyeing MePhone4 up before it started to chuckle, "me? You are asking me to watch myself?" The robot chuckled, finding amusement in the older model, "how about you dinosaur? What happened to your screen? Did you trip? Are you really that fragile??"

MePhone14pro leaned down, to get more on his level, but it was merely a taunt, a mocking gesture. "Should we put a little screen protector on you? Or do you need some support to stop you from tripping? How's a cane? Or some glasses?"

MePhone4 growled, "I'm not that old-" MePhone4 then pointed his finger into the other phone's screen, "and you were the one that ran into me- not the other way around- are you sure that your cameras are working well?!"

MePhone14pro pried his finger off it's screen, crushing the metal between it's grip, earning a hiss from MePhone4 before he pulled away. Rubbing at his finger gingerly, he glared up at MePhone14pro.

"Keep talking dinosaur- but at least I'm not the one with a cracked screen. Gotta be a whole new level of stupid to have that happen," MePhone14pro laughed, it's arms crossed, then it shrugged, "look- I'm not the one in denial- when were you built? 2010?"
