Microphone sat on her bed, sitting upon smooth grey sheets. Beside Microphone sat one of her closest friends, Knife. However, she was looking away from him. "So?" Knife spoke up after a pause in their light conversation they had prior, "..you.. you went to see her, didn't you?"
Microphone sighed, placing her face in her hands, "yeah, I did."
Knife gazed at her, his gaze searching, before he let out a sigh, looking away. "Well? How did it go?"
"...she- it's weird. Is she sorry? Is she not? She never made it clear, she'll say one thing that sounded like she had cared- but then she'll say another that completely contradicts her previous statement!" Microphone exclaimed, her emotions getting worked up, as she waved her hands around to communicate her frustration, "I honestly don't even know what to say- I think it was a mistake- I just hope- that... I dunno.."
Microphone's posture deflated after those final words, as she slouched down, Knife placed a hand behind her back gently. Knife still stared off towards the door as he rubbed Microphone's back in a soothing manner. The two stayed silent like that for a bit, both of them lost in their own thoughts. Microphone eventually let out an audible sigh, leaning in closer to Knife and his comfort.
Knife blinked calmly, staring at Microphone, he gave her a small smile. "It'll be fine... Ok?" Knife muttered to her, Microphone returned his smile.
"..m-maybe," she mumbled, looking down at her feet.
Knife gave her back a few parts before he pushed himself off the bed, gesturing for her to follow. "C'mon, Pickle is waiting for us."
Microphone nodded her head in response, also pushing herself off her bed. It creaked as Microphone got up, displacing the warm grey sheets. Knife gave her another smile before turning away to the door, Microphone quickly tailed behind him. Knife held the door open for her as she exited, after that the two walked side by side through the orange wallpapered hallway. Briskly making their way to the elevator, Knife pressed the call button, which sent the elevator up quickly. It seemed that no one else was using it, since the two easily got a ride down to the bottom storey.
Once the elevator reached the bottom, the doors slid open, letting Microphone and Knife escape it's walls. The two walked side by side once again, venturing down the hallway. Both of them moving in silence, till they exited out into the main lobby. There Microphone saw Pickle, sitting in the orange plush couch he always seemed to occupy. Microphone felt a smile etch across her face, as she hurried over to their friend, whilst Knife's pace was more calm.
Jumping over the back of the couch to sit immediately beside Pickle, Microphone accidentally startled him from his scrolling. Pickle fumbled about with his phone, catching it before it fully escaped his fingers. "Ah- oh- hey Mic," Pickle blinked, his absolute shock dying down quickly after he recognised his friend.
"Hey," Microphone responded, calming down a bit herself, as she relaxed into the firm softness of the couch. Knife came from the other side of Pickle. He sat down on the couch more gently than Mic did. A smile was also plastered across his face as was everyone else's.
Pickle peered over towards Knife, giving the other Object an acknowledging nod. Which Knife returned briskly afterwards. After all the greetings, the evening followed as it usually did. The time occupied by three of them enjoying each other's company. Their night consisting of a joyous multiplayer game on the TV, sharing bits of back and forth conversation, etc. It all seemed to be going right in Mic's eyes, the evening shadowing her prior worries about Taco. In this moment, all she could think about was having fun with some of her closest friends.
But of course, nothing can be going well for too long, eventually someone had to open the floodgates. "Oh- Mic, uh- Balloon and Suitcase were asking about where you were earlier today," Pickle mentioned offhandedly, as his character in the game attacked Knife's. Earning an agitated noise from the aforementioned Object.
