Moonpaw was in a forest, a dark dense forest. Moonpaw took a look around, but somehow she didn't feel scared.
"Hello, young Moonpaw," A voice called quietly, echoing around the trees.
A pale beige cat came into view.
"Sparkleleaf!" Moonpaw meowed with joy, "Where are we?"
"This is a place where Starclan comes and meets warriors in their dreams," Sparkleleaf explained.
"So this is a dream? You're not real?" Moonpaw mewed disappointedly.
"No, I'm real, I'm talking to you right? But I'm in Starclan, I have come to give you a message," Sparkleleaf meowed. "Beware of the dark, beware of the blood, death is coming,"
"What? What does that mean?" Moonpaw asked, but Sparkleleaf vanished into thin air.
Moonpaw jolted awake. Coralpaw, and Silverpaw were still asleep, the sun had not come up yet. Moonpaw tried to go back to sleep, but she kept thinking about Sparkleleaf's ominous omen. Moonpaw tossed and turned, failing to fall asleep. Finally, it was sunrise and Moonpaw bounded out of her den, feeling jumpier than ever.
"Moonpaw! What are you doing so early in the morning?" Sunpaw asked, emerging from the medicine den.
"I couldn't sleep last night," Moonpaw answered. "What are you doing?"
"I'm collecting herbs, we're almost out on traveling herbs, and Rubystar is going to the Crystal clearing at sundown.
"Oh yeah!" Moonpaw mewed.
"Anyway, I have to go or else Peridotleaf is going to be angry," Sunpaw meowed.
"Sure," Moonpaw answered. "I'll see you later!" Sunpaw dipped her head and padded off.
Moonpaw didn't know what to do, her friends were all sleeping like kittypets.
Finally Moonpaw decided to go hunting, she trotted into Rubystar's den, and peeked inside. Rubystar was awake.
"Rubystar? May I go hunting right now?" she asked. Rubystar looked up and nodded.
"Sure but don't go near Deathclan's territory," she ordered. Moonpaw nodded. This was a bummer, there were a lot of rabbits there.
Moonpaw padded into the woods, the sun was almost up, lighting up the dense forest. There was a squirrel in sight, Moonpaw crouched down low, and pounced, the squirrel ran up the tree beside it. Moonpaw growled angrily.
She stalked off scattering branches and leaves everywhere, there! A mouse! Moonpaw wasn't going to miss this one. She creeped towards it, beside her a bush shook lightly, Moonpaw paused, staring at it.
Probably the wind Moonpaw decided. She kept up with the mouse making sure to be light on her feet, then she leaped, but instead of biting into the small creature, she bit down a large clump of fur. She backed away confused. It was a cat, beige and white. Shimmerpaw!
"What are you doing?" she snapped at Moonpaw.
"I was hunting, it was going pretty well until YOU interfered," Moonpaw shot back.
"I did NOT! That was my mouse! I had it!" Shimmerpaw hissed.
"No, it was mine!" Moonpaw argued.
"Is there a problem here?" A voice asked cooly. Moonpaw and Shimmerpaw turned around. Obsidianclaw had padded up to them.
"Oh, I was just hunting and Moonpaw interrupted," Shimmerpaw meowed innocently.
"Um, no, Shimmerpaw tackled me when I was hunting!" Moonpaw argued.
