CHAPTER 13 🌲

Moonpaw growled. She wasn't buying this.

Coralpaw stared at the she-cats.

Silverpaw looked as if they'd just stolen her vole.

Glaring at them, Silverpaw growled. "Do you really expect us to believe that?! That's just a lie to reassure us!"

Coralpaw still looked ruffled, but she focused her attention on Olivineflower. "How?"
Olivineflower took a deep breath. "I was banished from Gemclan because Coralpaw's father was from another clan."

Moonpaw tensed. "Coralpaw is half clan!?" Olivineflower nodded.

Coralpaw looked close to tears. "Who-who's my father? W-what clan?"

"But Rubystar wouldn't do that to you! She's fair, she wouldn't banish a cat!" Silverpaw growled, interrupting.

"No, she wouldn't." Snowshine agreed "It was a different leader then, Glimmerstar,"

"Huh, that seems pretty close to Shimmerpaw," Moonpaw snorted.

Silverpaw glared at her. "Let's not get off topic, MOONPAW." Moonpaw sided away from her.

Olivineflower nodded. "Your father is deputy Tempestclaw from Stormclan."

Coralpaw jerked. "No!"

Olivineflower gave Coralpaw a confused glance.

"T-Tempestclaw is dead." Moonpaw mewed quietly.

Olivineflower looked at her sharply. "What?"

"He-he died in the battle a few seasons ago." Moonpaw stammered.

Tempestclaw had died from the battle against the rogues. Moonpaw had vague memories of all the clans mourning the deputy when she was very young.

Although she didn't think Olivineflower would really like to hear the details of her mate's death.

Snowshine and Olivineflower traded looks of sadness. "He was a really kind cat," Olivineflower sighed.

Poor Coralpaw Moonpaw thought. She finally found out she had parents, and then that she was half clan, and then realized that now she only has one.

"Hold on." Silverpaw mewed. "Are we really supposed to believe this!? How do we know if this is all a trick?"

Moonpaw looked at Coralpaw, and then at Olivineflower. It was hard not to see the similarities, they're eyes, pelt, and expression.

"I understand if you don't believe us, but Diamondstripe and Rubystar know the truth too," Snowshine murmured.

"Okay, Snowshine so you also have mystery kits that you could share with us?" Coralpaw asked.

Snowshine looked amused as she shook her head. "Never had a kit in my life!" she meowed truthfully.

"Do I have siblings? I always wondered what it would be like!" Coralpaw looked up at Olivineflower hopefully.

Olivineflower hesitated. "Well, you have three,"

"Three!" Coralpaw burst out. "Who? Who?"

"Er, they're in another clan," Olivineflower mewed.

"Oh," Coralpaw's face fell. "What are their names?"

"Well, Hailpaw, your sister, Thunderpaw which is your brother and Frostpaw your other brother," Olivineflower answered. She looked around as if expecting them to pop out of nowhere and sighed.

Moonpaw stiffened. She had attacked Hailpaw in the fight between Stormclan and Gemclan! Moonpaw hoped that she hadn't just injured Coralpaw's only sister.
