"I knew it," Daniel said scoffing, walking away from Jrt.
As a note to all, her name means snake and by the process of elimination the boy walking in was her brother, and his name was Sekhem, meaning powerful.
Their parents had wanted to have a boy born first and then a girl in which the names of their children would be powerful snake. But of course, a girl can not be powerful so they decided to name her snake, which back then was not as evil as you may think now.
"Hahahaha, you all do well to amuse your king," Sa said, getting out from his chair, where there now stood a total of 9 chairs.
"Or I guess I am no longer your king," he said looking at me, now standing in the center of the room.
"I thought we were here for a celebration, so why not continue on that." he continued to say.
"Now it seems that Daniel was looking for someone?" Sa took a moment to walk toward where Daniel was standing and leaned into his face, "Is that someone by any chance Emerald?"
I took a moment to look at Sa, realizing that he had called Daniel not Akhet but Daniel. And me by my current name.
"Fuck," I said under my breath.
"Desher, no one knew it was you until you talked," Sa said looking at me.
I looked at him and then looked at Daniel before speaking to Sa, "he knew," I said motioning toward Daniel. At that moment Monica rushed over to comfort me and it did more harm than good because Sa moved on from me to Monica.
"And look, here comes Monica being such a good friend as always. Rummanu, whoever said you belonged in hell." Sa said sarcastically.
He then looked over at Claire before speaking to her, "I think that everyone should be clear on who you are, don't you agree Claire? I love your name. It reflects the mood, and clearness. Does your voice do the same, do you still sound the same Hst."
"Oh whatever," Claire said, rolling her eyes.
"It looks like there are two pairs of siblings here aside from Fabolia and Micheal," Sa said pointing at Jrt and Sekhem, "isn't that right Noya and Daniel."
He moved from us to the throne again, "Or do you prefer your original names of beauty and sky, Nefer and Akhet."
We all looked at him with almost everyone exposed except the first guy who had entered Mass.
"Now why are you hiding? You were my friend before and now you want to ignore me, Mkt ?"
"I was wondering when you were going to get to me," said the first guy who had entered the room.
Sa turned to face him before saying, "Did you have a nice time chatting with Claire...Eric."
He nodded and turned to look at Claire, by her reaction I think she already knew who he was. There we stood, all of us still unaware of who Sa really was.
"Oh it seems I missed one...no make it two," Sa said.
Another chime, we all turned and in walked a tall boy followed by a girl, he was dressed in a dark blue outfit. He had black hair with a clear buzz cut that was barely noticeable, he had a nice glow to his skin that I was jealous of.
The girl had on a dark blue almost black gown that against her white skin suited her well, she had long shiny black hair, and she had no mask on so by her face sharp features I could tell she was from Germany.
"Hello, Mei and Jake," Sa said with his arms out, greeting them.
"Did you enjoy your time in Korea, Jake?" Sa asked.
"Well, it seems like I missed out on a lot," Jake said.
"Nothing much, trust me, I was just introducing everyone and forgot about you and her but now that you two are here we are complete. How have you been, Djet? And what about you Seneb? The dress suits you well."
I looked at Monica who walked over to Jake, she stood tall in front of him despite him being taller than her. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face, hard...hard enough to knock off the mask he had on and make him bleed in the process. The blood dripped from the corner of his mouth and he wiped it off.
"I guess I deserved that...Rummanu," he said to Monica looking sorrowful.
I walked over to her and placed my hands on her shoulder, "Come on Mo- let's go." I said, turning her away from Jake and making our way towards the door. Their history was as complex as mine but her hatred might be a bit stronger.
Though I would never tell her, I understood what Jake did. And... had I been desperate enough, I would have done the same thing.
I looked at her face as we made our way to the door, it seemed like she was trying to hold back her tears but it only seemed that way for a second. We kept walking but she then stopped which caused me to stop.
She turned around, "You should have stayed dead," she said blankly.
"Come on, let's go," I said, turning her again.
I placed my hand on the door and got ready to open it but Ahati stopped me.
"Move," I said.
"Sorry, but you can't leave before Mass is over."
"Bullshit, we're leaving," I responded.
He put out his hand preventing us from walking out the door. I stared him down and turned to head over to the table where the glasses were. I grabbed one, spilled the alcohol, and banged the glass against the table. It left only sharp edges around the neck.
"Are you going to try and hurt me with that Desher?" Ahati asked.
I walked back to the door, "No, of course not. I couldn't hurt a soldier sent down from the gods," I said putting the broken glass closer to my neck.
"You let us go or I spill blood on your sacred Mass," I said gripping the neck of the broken wine glass closer to my neck, I could tell that my skin was about to tear.
He walked over to me but I took a step back pressing the glass deep into my neck, making it bleed.
"Let's not do something stupid now," he said, grabbing my hand.
I pushed him back with my free while still keeping the other one to my neck, "what do I care, I'll just come back."
He smiled before he spoke, "Do you want to stop coming back?"
I still had the glass to my neck but Monica rushed over to me and pulled my hand down. She put her hand on my neck but I shook my head, the wound wasn't that deep and it didn't hurt. I've had worse wounds before.
"Don't do something stupid," She whispered to me.
"It's not stupid if it concerns you," I whispered back, "It was your family, I would have killed him too," I said.
"Ladies, please take your seats," Ahati said.
