"It's not like you to run," Daniel said.
"But it is like you to chase," I responded.
"You're the same as ever."
"I'm not the one who needs to change Daniel."
"Really, you can't think of a single thing you need to change."
"Of course I can. But my behavior towards you doesn't need to change," I said.
"And despite your rude behavior I want to see you," Daniel said in such a smooth and luring voice, one that almost made me give up my location.
"Well, it's a shame...that I don't want to see you."
"You won't see me? Even as we are condemned to hell. Not even once, for old times' sake?"
"Not even for a second," I said, hanging up the phone.

There was a knocking at my door that woke me up. I got out of bed to answer it.
"Morning," Anthony said.
I rubbed my eyes and even though I didn't have my glasses on I could still see Anthnony's face clearly, "good morning."
"I got us some breakfast, it's on the table whenever you're ready to come out."
I nodded and stepped out of the room, making my way to the kitchen table. There were two orders of pancakes and hash brown with a gallon of orange juice in the middle of the table. I took a seat and Anthnoy passed over a cup with juice poured.
I began to eat, silently. I was still a little sleepy for whatever reason though. It was Anthony who ended up breaking the silence.
"Are you okay?"
I looked at him and smiled, "yeah, I'm just a little distracted."
"You don't have to lie to me."
"I'm not lying," I said honestly.
"Look I didn't mean to, but I overheard you last night and-"
"Oh... that. Don't worry about it, Daniel always tries to-"
"Wait, Daniel? Emerald, what are you talking about?"
"What are you talking about?" I was confused.
"I'm talking about overhearing you cry last night."
"I cried last night?"
"Yeah, I woke up to get something to drink and I heard some strange noises coming from your room. I know I shouldn't have but I went to check out the noise, I went inside and saw you crying in your sleep."
"So much for privacy, right?" I said with a smile.
"I'm sorry, really it wasn't my intention, it's just that I was worried something was happening, so I went in."
"I'm not mad," I said.
"So...are you okay?"
"I'm okay, I thought I stopped crying though. I guess I was wrong."
"Why were you crying? "Anthony asked.
"I was probably dreaming. When people dream, their dreams are influenced by their stress, hopes, feelings, and what not. But...my dreams are influenced by my past lives. When I dream, I dream about my past lives and not all of them were cheerful."
"But... you're okay right?"
I nodded, "it happens from time to time, but when I wake up I don't remember them."
