Recap of Part 1

My name is Emerald and I am cursed by gods.

I don't remember why I was cursed, but I know that I wasn't the only one. There were 11 families in total who were cursed just like me.

We are cursed to keep coming back to life until we manage to break our curse. The only way to break it is to find true happiness and to find true happiness you need to be loved by anyone in the life that you are living.

If you aren't loved by anyone, you come back to life. You are reincarnated...but right as you are dying you see what we call the possibilities.

During the possibilities, you see the possible people who could break your curse. They are always people whom you have known in the life you just lived. You become immersed in the possibilities, and you can't even tell the difference between the life you just lived and the possibilities you are seeing.

But the possibilities are part of the curse and you see yourself destroying everything. You see yourself killing the people who could have broken your curse.

I have never seen them...and it's bittersweet. I don't have to feel the pain but it also means that no one has been able to love me.

The last element of our curse is a gift...powers.

Each family was taken in by a god and given a gift to help them combat their curse. I got the gift of memories, remembering every detail of my life.

I am now in my 22nd life and am 17 years old. I have a friend from my first life Rummanu, now Monica, who convinced me to accompany her to Mass.

Mass is a ball where every cursed being can meet. We party, catch up, and get to see a peek into the future.

This time, our future told us that we would die... at first I was relieved to know that I would finally be done with this. I would no longer have to come back.

But I was wrong...I saw my mother again. She told me that even if I die I would not get to rest. I would be going to hell because I carry the curse.

The only way to break it, without having anyone love me is to find the gods' Blessings.

There are a limited number of them...but I have to find them because it is not just my life at stake. My mother told me that every person is cursed, not in terms of reincarnation but in terms of love.

If a person is loved they get into heaven, I have managed to get many people into heaven...but if I die and end up in hell, then all the people I have loved also go to hell.

My love is wrong, if you are loved by someone evil...you are evil and can't enter heaven. So I need to gather all the Blessings...for the sake of all the people that I have loved.

And finally, there's my father...he killed me in my first life. It turns out he's alive and I have to hide...
