Dang it. Did nothing Monica and I talk about stay between us last night?
"You talked to Monica?" I asked Daniel.
"I did, she caught me in the morning."
"And what did you talk about?"
"Mostly you," he said leaning closer to me.
It was still early and the sun had not yet fully risen. Daniel's hair was the only hint of yellow in the sky as I looked up to meet his gaze. Today he was wearing a light blue shirt and black jeans with a white jacket draped over him, to anyone else we would seem to be matching each other.
"I should have guessed so," I said tilting my head.
"Come with me Emerald, I'll give you a ride to school," he said, grabbing my hand and raising it up to his lips to kiss it.
I slowly took my hand back from his grasp, "I'd rather walk."
"You want to ruin your perfect attendance?"
I really didn't. But I also really didn't want to share a car ride with Daniel, it would only add to the rumors that were awaiting me once I reached school.
"Come on Emerald," Daniel said in a taunting voice, "time is running out."
"Fine," I said out of exhaustion, "where's your car?"
"Just up ahead," Daniel said walking in front of me.
I quickly went to my car to get my bag out and caught up to him. I was shocked but not surprised to see that Daniels' car was not a car but a red and black motorcycle.
"Oh...no," I said, smiling at how ridiculous the idea was of me riding in a motorcycle and holding onto Daniel from behind.
"It's not that bad," Daniel said, handing me a black helmet.
"You expect me to ride in that?"
Daniel stepped away from his motorcycle for a minute and looked at me up and down.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
"Here, drape this over your legs," he said, handing me his white jacket.
I took it reluctantly and waited for Daniel to get on first. I put on the helmet and sat behind him, placing the jacket in front of me and tying it behind me.
I tried to hold Daniel as light as possible but each time my grasp loosened he began to speed up causing me to hold onto him tighter. He continued like this until we finally made it to school.
He parked in the school parking lot and I quickly got off of the motorcycle not wanting to draw attention to myself. Failing in the process as I heard people talking about how good-looking Daniel looked and people wondering who the girl next to him was.
I took my helmet off and pushed it against his chest, "I want my car fixed by the end of the day."
"Why do you still think it was me who slashed your tires?"
I glared at Daniel, "I know about the knife you keep in your motorcycle compartment."
"And how do you know that?" He asked leaning into me again.
"Your shirt rides up when you drive," I said blankly, staring at him.
He smiled before speaking, "You touched me and saw into my memories."
"You kept speeding up and I knew it was you even before I even saw into your memories."
"Don't you think it's time for you to move on from the past?"
