A day passed after the dog, Haiiro, was e̶n̶s̶l̶a̶v̶e̶d̶ (Contracted) into joining the team.
"Stop! You there! Hand over your Vision—it's the Vision Hunt Decree!" The command echoed through the night as chaos erupted across the streets. The Shogunate soldiers moved in tight formations, their spears gleaming in the moonlight. Among them, the commanders stood out, their katanas at the ready as they pursued a lone figure through the shadows.
It was a restless night on Narukami Island, especially in Ritou. A blond man, dressed in red, sprinted through the narrow streets, desperately trying to outrun the Shogunate forces on his heels. He wielded a spear with practiced skill, making it clear he was a Vision bearer. His name was Thoma—a fact that had quickly spread among the pursuers, thanks to a sharp-eyed informant.
Thoma hailed from Mondstadt, and his appearance was striking. He was tall, with vibrant green eyes and messy blond hair, which was kept short at the front but tied back into a ponytail.
His outfit was a mix of Mondstadt and Inazuman styles: a short-sleeved brown shirt, blue trousers, and a red jacket with brown sleeves. Leather armor plates adorned his waist, along with a metal headband and pendant that caught the light as he moved. His sandals, fingerless gloves, and the red cloth tied around his waist all added to his distinct look, making him easy to spot even in the chaos of the night.
There he was, the commander, sprinting after his target with a katana in hand, clearly growing weary. His movements were clumsy, revealing that he wasn't truly skilled with the blade. Any seasoned martial artist would have said he was more suited to a polearm, but he continued his reckless charge, his form messy and uncontrolled.
This man was the former owner of the Cryo Vision that Haiiro had consumed. His past was a fog, his memories faded and nearly forgotten. Now, he was little more than a hollow shell, a puppet stripped of his ambitions, chasing something he could no longer truly grasp. And now he merely following the role of a "Squad Commander" that everyone says he was.
And... he failed.
"Augh!?" While leading the squad he fell down. His subordinates still move on the chase despite that. The formation was broken, but they still resume the chase.
Thoma darted past the guard post, moving with calculated precision. Originally he was supposed to be intercepted by a commander wielding a cryo Vision, but violence wasn't an option for him. Without the ability to fight back, he was quickly surrounded. Thanks to Haiiro's intervention, the commander's ambitions were shattered, and he had lost the ability to use his powers. This led to the current predicament.
As Thoma navigated through the narrow alleyways lined with food stalls, he found himself cornered by a dead end. Thinking quickly, he summoned his polearm and vaulted over the barrier with the agility of a seasoned athlete. The moment he landed on the other side, he dispelled his weapon, leaving no sign of his escape. The Shogunate soldiers arrived moments later, only to find themselves staring at an empty alley.
