The next morning they all made the trip to Aunt Marie's. When they arrived they found her sipping coffee in her kitchen. Alex made the rounds of introductions. After many tears and hugs, Alex asked " Aunt Marie, I know you already know something. Please tell us what's going on before we go into the hospital."
Marie looked at the kids and sighed " I'm Sick. Have been for a while Honey." Alex was afraid to ask the next question, he almost did when Liv spoke up. "Sick with what Marie?" Marie reached out to pat Alex's hand and started to explain. "Cancer. I have breast cancer.The meeting Monday was to let Alex know that the treatment we've been doing isnt working and it's time to start radiation and then surgery. But the doctor wants me to go to another hospital where he says they have a better program."
Alex whispered " Where is this other hospital Aunt Marie?" Marie answered softly "Dallas, Texas." Alex chuckled and Marie looked at him oddly before he spoke. " I just bought a ranch outside of Dallas. We move in at the end of the week. I was coming home to tell you I wanted you to move with me. Looks like it was the perfect timing. I've asked Live to move in with me Aunt Marie." Marie got up and hugged both Alex and Liv as she said " Oh Honey i'm so glad you are happy! You know you've been like a son to me all these years and no mother could be prouder of you Alexander. Now you've brought me a niece and nephew i've never known.. and a daughter too!"

Later that night when Alex and Liv were laying in bed, Alex said " I love you Olivia, I have something for you." She looked back at him and grinned while wiggiling her eyebrows. He laughed and said " Not that!!" He climbed out of bed and grabbed a box out of his nightstand drawer. He walked over to her side of the bed and got down on one knee. Olivia gasped and started tearing up as he started speaking. " Liv you are the most amazing woman I know. You're kind, loving, and fun. You make each and everyday brighter just by waking. Please make me the happiest man alive and become my wife. I will cherish you each and every day, and show you just what you mean to me. Will you marry me Liv?"
With tears streeming down her face she said " Yes!! I will marry you Alex!! I can'tbelieve you were able to sneak this by me! How and When did you have time?" He grinned and kissed her. When they pulled back he said " I e-mailed a friend that creates jewelry and told him what i wanted and about you. He designed it and put it in here before we ever landed."
A long time later that night after celebrating their engagement he whispered "Liv how soon do you want kids?" She kissed him and said "Right away! We're not getting any younger and we do have that house to fill up." He laughed and drifted off to sleep to the sound of her laughter.
