Chapter 13

It rained for the next 2 days, so it was Tuesday before they could boat across the lake to town. Olivia didn’t know what to do with all the relaxation time. While Alex worked she would read, play with Rebel, or just watch him work. She smiled as she watched him working away, he must be into an intense moment, she thought. He was hunched over his computer, pounding away at the keys, with a look of complete enthrallment. She decided she needed to talk to Georgia so she picked up her cell to text.

Olivia: I swear this is the best week I’ve ever spent with anyone. I don’t want it to end.

Georgia:  Who says it has to? If you like each other, what would make it end?

Olivia: I’m not talking about me and Alex ending nerd! I mean not having to go in and deal with the drama at the office. I told Alex I wanted to practice a different type of law. 

Georgia: What did he say to that?

Olivia: He told me if I wasn’t happy where I was and my dream was to help out underprivileged kids then I should follow my dream.

Georgia: Who is this guy? Super sweet, encouraging , obviously infatuated with you? What planet did he come from? 

Olivia: LOL! I don’t know! He’s really amazing Georgie. I think I’ve fallen for him.

Georgia: Are you sure? Has he said anything about how he feels?

Olivia: Yes he told me he knew with our first kiss that I was his ‘one’.  

Georgia: Oh wow! What about the fact that he lives in another state?

Olivia: He’s already contacted a realtor to find a place in Dallas. He had made the choice before we met because, his Aunt is from here and she’s not doing so well in health. He’s buying a ranch close to Dallas and asking her to move home with him.

Georgia: Oh wow! So he takes care of his elderly aunt too?

Olivia: She would be your aunt too! She’s been the only mother he’s ever known. 

Georgia: So where is Mr.Wonderful if you are texting me?

Olivia: Working on a new book. It’s cute to watch him, he gets so into it. I’ve spent most the week while he’s been working reading his books. He’s a truly amazing writer. Which it looks like he’s coming out of ’the zone’ as I’ve started to call it. 

Georgia: I’ll have to pick up some of them. So what do you think of him moving here?

Olivia: I’m happy. He asked me to go look at the places with him. He wants my opinion of the ranches. Says as it could be my home someday he wants it to be a place I love.

Georgia: He’s really serious isn’t he?

Olivia: Yes. He holds me every night but we haven’t had sex. He said as much as he wants me, he wants me to be completely sure he’s what I want. He doesn’t take the next step lightly and only takes the next step if we are committed to each other. Says sex isn’t worth it unless there is love involved.

Georgia: So no casual sex for Mr.Wonderful , only love making. Rare but good.

Olivia: Is it crazy how quickly this is all happening? I know if something happened and we didn’t work out I would be crushed. So crushed I don’t think I’d be able to try again.

Georgia: You love him?

Olivia: Yes, I’m pretty sure I’m completely in love with Alex.

Georgia: Wow! Aww Liv that’s great! And no it’s not crazy, when it’s right , it’s right.

Olivia: Thanks Georgie … I needed to hear that. He’s done for a while, so we’re going to go make lunch.

Georgia: Tell him Liv.

Olivia: I will soon.

       Alexander watched as she was texting away on her phone. He smiled as he watched her and thought about how wonderful this week had been. He was sure she was it for him. She hadn’t told him how she felt yet though. He knew he was in love with her, completely in love. Smiling to himself he asked “ Ready to go make lunch Baby?”

     “Sure Alex. I was just chatting with Georgia.”

     “Ahh and how is she?”

      “ She’s good. Wondering when we can get out of here though.”

     “ I’ll try moving the trucks and test the road but we should be able to get out tomorrow. We have that appointment with the realtor on Saturday morning. Then I have to drive home , my aunt’s appointment is Monday.”

“ I had forgotten about you going back.”

“Liv , do you think you could take more time off?”

“ I’m sure I could. Since technically this is suppose to be work, and I have time I can take off. Why?”

“ I want you to come back with me. When I go back to take Aunt Marie to the Doctor. I’m planning to put my house on the market. Hopefully we will find one of the ranches we like.” 

“ Alex you know even if you find onw, it will take up to 90 days to close. Then they have 30 days to vacate.”

“ Baby, money talks. Believe me, I can speed up this move. I want to be here with you. I can stay here at the cabin until it’s ready. If Aunt Marie’s news isn’t good, I want her here as soon as possible.”

“ Alex I want to be with you, I want you here, and I hope your aunt’s news is good. I’ll call my Dad and ask him for the time off.” 

 He pulled her close and kissed her deeply. When he pulled back he stared into her eyes for a long time. He smiled and kissed her again, whispering “ I love you Olivia.”

She was stunned. It took her a minute to recover, but once she did she smiled. She kissed him and asked “Are you sure Alex?” 

 “Yes Baby I’m sure. I wouldn’t have said it otherwise. I love you.”

“That’s good because I love you too Alex.”

“Really?”

 “Yes really! It’s probably too soon but I do!”

 “ Time doesn’t matter when it’s right Baby.”
