Texas Summer Rain

Chapter 11

Olivia stood looking out of the window over the lake, it was a couple of hours later when they came back from their walk, and the rain was starting back up with a steady drizzle. She was lost deep in thought when Alexander slipped his arms around her.  He couldn't help but chuckle when she jumped. 

  "Where were you Baby?"

  " What do you mean Alex?"

  "You seemed deep in thought is all. My Aunt called a few minutes ago,  her doctors want her to come in for some tests. Which means I may have to make a trip home after we get out of here."

    Olivia wasn't happy about the news, but he would need to be there. She sure hoped it wasn't anything serious. She leaned back into his embrace and smiled at him.

   "It's nothing serious is it?"

  "I don't know, she won't tell me. Which means whatever it is they are worried about could be bad. That's why I'm heading back there."

   " I'm sure she will be happy with you there supporting her Alex. Did you tell here about everything that's going on here?"

   "Do you mean about you or Georgia and Mitch?"

  " Well both I guess...."

      She kind of mumbled her answer and he smiled. He lifted her chin up with a finger, smiled and kissed her softly before answering.

    "Yes I told here about what's going on here.... And mostly I told her about You."

    "What did she have to say about Georgia and Mitch?"

    "I think she was more interested in the part about you. But she wants to meet them. Aren't you curious what she thought about you?" 

    "Yes but I'm nervous too."

    "Why?"

    "Because her opinion matters Alex. She's like your mother."

  " She said that if I could admit she was right all those years ago, then she couldn't wait to meet the wonderful youngin' that could be the cause."

    "And just what did you admit she was right about?"

     He laughed and kissed the side of her neck, whispering "Wouldn't you like to know!"

     "Tell me Alex!"

  "Nope!"

     She turned in his arms so that she was facing him, looking deep into his eyes, she saw the emotions shining there. She couldn't place most of them, but she saw the joy and affection. What would it be like to be loved by Alex? To make love with him? Shaking her head, she laid it on his chest and  inhaled his sent.

    Alexander smiled as he held her. She had searched his eyes for a few moments before moving deeper into his arms. Could she see just how much I'm starting to feel for her? He wondered at the possibilities, he almost let himself slip, he almost told her that she was the one. That would surely scare her off, wouldn't it?

     He looked down as his cell went off, saw it was the realtor and answered quickly. "Hello Julie. Really? Well that's wonderful! Can you send me the info, pictures, and etc. to my e-mail? Yes that would be wonderful! Well let's see today is Saturday, should be able to be in Dallas for next Saturday.. Will that work for you? Wonderful to have special treatment.. Oh why thank you Julie! Once you get the information on that last one, please send it right away. I would like to choose one as soon as possible."

   He stood still for a second listening to the bubbly woman on the phone, then said " Yes that would be wonderful Julie! I will see you next Saturday, Thank you! Goodbye."

    He looked down at Olivia, and his smile seemed to fade a bit, her eyes seemed to hold a little bit of hurt in them and he wondered what had caused it. Swallowing he whispered "Livie, What wrong Baby?"

 "Nothings wrong Alexander."

   Now he knew it was something, she called him by his full name. He frowned and thought about it for a moment, the he caught it, she had no idea who Julie was and it sounded like he was making a date. Smiling again he kissed her, even though she pulled away he laughed. 

   Olivia was hurting and he was laughing, Who was this Julie, how could he say they were something special and then make a date with a woman? Not only in front of here, but while holding her!  She tried to hold back the tears and bit her lip hard. Could she have already fallen for him?

    Alexander looked down and saw her tears and sobered up, he was a fool and had hurt her with a misunderstanding. He wiped away a tear that had leaked out away before kissing her softly.

   "Olivia please don't cry, how can I fix what's hurting you? Was it that call? Julie is the realtor I mentioned Baby. I was setting an appointment to go look at the properties. You're going with me aren't you?" 

    Olivia hid her face in his chest, Why was she acting so foolish? She had never acted jealous before. Not with any man. They had only known each other for a couple days, how could she have gotten this attached to him? 

   Alexander held her tighter and whispered " Baby I know everything between us is new, and you aren't sure about us. But you don't have to worry about me running around on you. I would never do that. If there is something making you doubt me, talk to me about it. You are the first woman I've noticed in 5 years, you have nothing to worry about I promise you. I know there are always doubts in the beginning of relationships, but this isn't just a standard beginning , it's something special Baby. Which I what I told Aunt Marie."

     "You told your Aunt that we were something special?"

    " Well remember I admitted she was right about something?"

    "Which you won't tell me..."

   " When I was growing up she always telling me that when I met the right girl I would know. I use to laugh at her and tell her she was crazy. She always told me one day I would call her and tell her I was wrong and she was right. When she called me this morning, I admitted she was right."

   " Y-You told her I-I was the one?" 

     He grinned and nodded his head yes while watching her reactions. First he saw surprise, next was uncertainty, and finally was joy. She pulled him closer to her, and whispered "You're sure?"

    "I'm positive Baby. I knew it after our first kiss." 

    "I'm sorry for being jealous and doubting you Alex."

    "You have nothing to be sorry for Liv."
