They drove in Friday night to Olivia’s apartment. Alexander had decided just to stay with her for the short time they would be here in Dallas. As soon as they closed the door, the bell rang.

“How much do you want to bet it’s Georgia and Mitch? They’ve been waiting to meet you.”

“What were they watching the place?”

Olivia was laughing when she opened the door to her two best friends. She hugged them both and made the introductions. Mitch just stared at Alexander, surprised how much they looked alike. Georgia punched his arm and said “ Sorry I think he’s shocked that you two look alike. He’s always thought he had to be adopted cause he didn’t look like our family.”

“No worries, it’s kind of odd seeing the resemblance. We were just about to order some pizza for dinner, since we just got in. Would you care to join us?”

“That would be nice. And since when does Liv eat pizza? She always makes us go for Chinese or Tofu.”

“Is that true Liv? You don’t like pizza?”

“No I like pizza! Georgie and I order it all the time! Just not when Mitch is here cause I like to annoy him.”

“Baby that’s so not right. You do have a mean streak in you, remind me never to screw up.”

“ That’s right you better remember! I’m not as innocent as I look.”

The who group laughed and the Mitch piped up. “ You two are wrong! You can not get away with it anymore! Grrr! See what I’ve had to live with here man?”

“ Yeah I see they like pickin’ on you.”

“It’s frustrating! They have always caused trouble together. I swear it’s a shock I’m not gray headed already.”

Livie slapped his arm and said “ Yeah but you love us anyway Mitchy!”

“ Yeah your right I do! I swear it’s like I have twin sisters instead of one.”

The two women stared at them and  Livie said “ Hey now!” and Georgie finished “We aren’t that much alike!”  Then started laughing…

Alex shook his head and said “ oh yeah Babe, nope nothing alike at all.”

Just as he was wrapping his arms around Livie, his cell phone ran, seeing it was his Aunt Marie, he pulled her tighter against his side. Livie looked at him and the phone display and squeezed his arm. Alex answered the phone hoping it wasn’t bad news.

Marie really was dreading calling Alexander. She knew the doctor calling her in Monday wasn’t good news. She knew it would hurt Alex if anything happened to her, Who would take care of him? Who would make him eat when he was writing ?  She was worried about her nephew, but maybe these new cousins or siblings would help him through it, or Olivia the one who has seemed to steal his heart. She heard him answer the phone and knew he was worried.
