Chapter 4

I SLOWLY WOKE UP, groaning as I heard the most horrendous beeping sound of the alarm. I reached out to turn it off. As I did, it fell off, causing me to feel even more annoyed. I ran my finger through my hair only to notice that it was tangled. Further adding to my already cranky mood. Gosh, this was one hell of a way to start a Monday morning.

It was way too early for this.

"Y/n! It's time to get up, today's the special day!" My mother yelled

'Wait what? Special day? What day is it today?'

I grabbed my phone from the counter and saw today was February 26th.

'Shoot, today was the entrance exam and it was already 7:25 am!'

I got up to place the pillow back on the bed and the alarm on the counter. I walked over to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get my hair untangled.

After that, I wore my junior high uniform and my f/c backpack that contained a white t-shirt, a black zip up sweater and some green cargo pants to change into later. I walked out my room to my mother already filling 2 plates of bacon, eggs, and toast. As if my stomach could see the amazing food infront of me, it growled, making my mom let out a chuckle.

"Come eat or the food will get cold!" My mom said.

I sat down across from her and clasped my hand together to gesture a 'thank you' before digging it and savoring every last bite. I practically melted at how well the bacon was cooked. My eyes looking up at my mother with a mixture of love and gratitude in them.

"This is so good mom! How are you always so good at making these dishes?!" I asked

My mom let out an another chuckle, "I'll teach you in your free time if you want, now hurry up and eat kiddo it's almost time for you to go."

I nodded at her and continued to eat chatting mainly about how I feel and what I hope to accomplish.

I wore my f/c shoes and grabbed my backpack. It was a little chilly outside so I decided it was best to wear a scarf. I was ready to go and all I had to do now was say goodbye to my mother.

"Mom where are you I'm going to be late." That was a lie just to get my mom to hurry up and she finally came back but with a camera in hand.

"Sorry I was late, you can't leave before I take this quick picture of you!" She said happily

"Please make it quick though" I said. In all honestly, I didn't know how to pose so I just did a quick peace sign and prayed the picture came out good.

"Look at my girl, so grown already! I can't believe you're heading off to U.A high to take the exam!" She said

"Mom please, I didn't pass or anything so you can't get your hopes up too much."

She then pulled me in close and gave me a quick tight hug and whispered in my ear.

"I know you'll make us proud honey." She said softly

Her words filled my heart with determination and courage. The whole reason I want to become a hero is to be strong. Strong enough to protect those in need. I want to save people and never have to lose someone close to me ever again.

"Now go be the hero you are and don't be scared to be kick some ass." She said cheerfully

Now that earned a laugh out of me. "You got it mom. I love you!" I said quickly before opening the door and waving a quick goodbye.

"I love you too! Bye Y/n!"

U.A High isn't that far from where I live so I decided that I should just walk today. It would be a 10 minute walk so I should be doing good on time.

I checked my phone just in case and looked at the time.

8:10 am

The entrance exam starts at 8:40 so I'm running good on time but I should hurry it up a bit.

I wonder what the exam will be about.

Finally the 'H' shaped like building came into view and I was now standing on the front entrance of U.A. I still couldn't believe I was standing at one of the schools many aspiring heroes - like All might, have graduated from. It all felt surreal.

Taking a sight at the iconic building, I began mentally preparing myself for what was to come and taking deep breaths.

I got this.

Just as I was about to walk up the stairs,
I noticed a bi-colored hair male walking near me. I couldn't help but stare at his unusual appearance.

His hair was divided into two colors, one half snowy white, and the other fiery red. As if he knew I was staring at him, he looked over his shoulder and we locked eyes for a brief moment. That's when I noticed that he also had heterochromia eyes. One gray and the other blue but they looked so...dull. We just stood there making eye contact until he turned away and continued walking.

Well, that was weird...

I didn't think much of it and continued to walk up the stairs but before I could go inside the building, I heard someone behind me yelping.

I turned to look over my shoulder and saw a boy with green unkempt hair kicking his feet that were off the ground.

Next to him was a short brown haired girl with pink cheeks that had one of her hands placed on his shoulder. She chucked as she pulled him down to the ground and then clasped her hands together and said, "I stopped you with my quirk. I'm sorry I didn't ask first. But I figured you wouldn't mind me catching you."

The boy just stared at her with wide eyes as his cheeks started to glow a red hue. Yup, He was blushing.

"Isn't this all, like, way nerve-wracking?" Said the brown haired girl.

The green haired boy then started stuttering and his body started to shake.

"Uh, I-I, u-uh..." He said, struggling to form a coherent sentence.

I sighed, I couldn't get too caught up in other people business. Besides, I was here for an exam at one of the top schools in Japan and I sure wasn't letting a big opportunity like this slip by.

I turned to walk inside the building and began to look around searching for the orientation. After a moment, I found a big sign that read 'U.A High school Hero course exam orientation' with a red arrow below the text pointing left.

I made my way in trying to find a nearby seat that was empty and quietly sat waiting for the orientation to start.
