Chapter 30: Midoriya vs Todoroki

I COULDN'T TEAR MY EYES from the scene in front of me. Todoroki had used his left side. It had become apparent as fire consumed his whole body and a massive storm of flames erupted around him.

His fire kept burning higher and higher, I could feel the intense heat of Todoroki's fire from where I was sitting. The intensity of his fire left me completely awe-struck.

"When I'm in battle, I NEVER use my left side."

'No way...he's not holding back anymore..'

I felt my lips curve into a smile of approval. While it was uncertain if Todoroki would fully embrace his fire quirk even after this display, one thing was clear - this was a significant step forward. A major step towards accepting his fire as part of himself.

"Wha-" Present mic gasped, "IS THAT-?"

"He's using his fire!" Uraraka shouted as she held up both her hands infront of her face.

"Incredible.." Iida breathed.

'Wait..' a realization had dawned on me. 'Midoriya, don't tell me you were trying to save Todoroki this whole time..'

From my perspective, it seemed like Midoriya's actions and words were constantly aimed at breaking through Todoroki's tough resolve, rather than solely focusing on victory. He aimed for a deeper impact, his comments and determination seemed more personal..

"You're helping your opponent, you fool." Todoroki said as he melted the ice on his right side, "Even though you wanna win this battle. Now which one of us is screwing around?"

Midoriya gasped as he watched Todoroki crouch down - still having fire emitting from his left side. He smiled as he heard Todoroki's next words.

"I want it too, I'll be a hero!"

"YES! SHOTOOO!" a loud voice yelled from the crowd.

The stadium went silent as the attention was shifted to a particular person in the stands.

I looked at the big screen as it showed Endeavor descending down the stairs of the stands with his fire partially enveloping some of his body parts - already adding to his intimidating presence.

"Have you finally accepted your purpose?" he said with a grin, "Yes, that's it. Very good! This is the dawn of a new era for us. With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me!"

"You will live up to the reason I created you!"

"Endeavor suddenly shouts words of encouragement..?" Present Mic said with an uncertain tone, "What a caring father."

"Amazing...." Midoriya spoke low.

"Why are you smiling?" Todoroki asked, quickly wiping the smile off of Midoriya's face. "With those injuries...in this hopeless situation. You must be crazy. Don't blame me for what happens next."
