Chapter 24: Sports Festival

"AND WITH THAT, the second round is officially over!"

'It's really over? No,no! But we were so close! I can't believe it...'

As I helped lower Midoriya off, Present Mic's voice continued to ring over the speakers.

"Now, let's take a look at who our top four teams are! In first place, we have....Team Todoroki!"

As their team were mentioned, I couldn't help but look over towards them and a wave of disappointment washed over me, the reality sinking in. 'We were right there!'

"In second place - Team Bakugo!"

Bakugo was clearly upset about being in second place, shouting and acting much like an angry kid throwing a tantrum.

"In third place - Team Testute....wait what? It's Team Shinso? When did they come back from the dead?

I turned around to face my teammates, everyone's head was down except for me and Tokoyami.

"I'm sorry guys...." Midoriya spoke, his head facing the ground.

"Midoriya...." I breathed, " It's not your fault, we all fought our best, this is just a reminder that we can always improve and grow in the future." 'even if we lost, we can take and learn something from this'

We were all silent until Tokoyami's several coughs grabbed our attention.

"I must apologize, when Todoroki was shaken by your first attack...I tried to grab the ten million point headband, but things...didn't go as planned."

"Still, I managed to get one."

We all gasped as Dark shadow was holding a headband on its mouth, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the point value - six hundred and fifteen points! I swear it felt like my mouth was going to fall from hanging so low!

"Midoriya, you're the one who created the opening for me."

"Wait..." I said, "This means we advance to the next round!?"

"And in fourth place - is Team Midoriya!"

I couldn't contain my excitement as me and Uraraka began to jump together holding hands in celebration. I also ran over wrapping my hands around Tokoyami in a tight hug. "You're the best Tokoyami!" I exclaimed, a huge smile on my face.

As I pulled back from the hug, I noticed the faintest smile on Tokoyami's face. He looked a bit embarrassed and awkwardly cleared his throat, obviously trying to regain his composure.

I chuckle at his awkwardness, I turned around only to see Midorya on the floor balling his eyes out and screaming. 'Seriously, that boy turns into an emotional mess at any given moment.'
