"HEY, WAIT UP!" I called out, speeding up to close the gap between us.
Todoroki paused, turning to face me with that same damn cold expression.
"What do you want?" he asked, his voice cold and measured as usual.
"I just wanted to know where you were going," I explained, trying to keep my voice even and casual. "Midoriya and Bakugo's match haven't even ended"
Todoroki took a minute to stare at me, he narrowed his eyes slightly as he regarded me with his usual aloof expression.
"It's none of your business," he replied coldly.
Is this guy for real?
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance at Todoroki's dismissive response. His cool demeanor and aloof attitude were seriously starting to get on my nerves.
"Seriously?" I retorted, crossing my arms. "I was just asking a simple question. No need to be so rude."
"I told you I'll take care of i-" he said but I quickly cut him off.
"I know you think you can handle everything on your own, but this is a team exercise. We're supposed to be working together. Can't you at least tell me what your plan is?" I said walking closer to him.
Todoroki let out a soft sigh, realizing that he wasn't going to get out of explaining himself.
"Fine," he said, reluctantly agreeing. "I'll tell you my plan, but only because it seems like you won't leave me alone otherwise."
Todoroki explained his plan with a measured tone, detailing how he intended to freeze the walls all the way up to the floor where the missile was located and immobilize our opponents.
"By freezing the walls, I'll trap Ojiro and Hagakure inside," he said, "And once they're frozen, We can focus on securing the missile." He said
I pouted slightly, a mix of disappointment and determination in my voice. "So you're saying I won't get to do anything?" I asked, making it clear I was not keen on being sidelined.
Todoroki observed my reaction for a moment before speaking
"You do realize that in a real-life hero scenario, sometimes the best course of action is to trust in your partner's abilities and let them take charge," he stated, his voice calm. "I have a plan to neutralize our opponents. If you focus on backing me up and covering any blind spots, that'll be a significant contribution."
"Awh man," I grumbled, folding my arms across my chest in mild protest. "I'd really hoped to be of some help, but I guess if it means we can win..." I trailed off.
"Listen," he said, his voice stern but not unkind. "This isn't about who gets to do the most flashy move. It's about working together as a team and relying on each other's strengths. If you really want to help, then trust me to take care of the neutralizing part. And when the time comes, I'll count on you to watch my back. Deal?"
