chapter seventeen - who?

Ana tried not calm herself down, but it was hard especially when the boy she's having feelings for is professing his love for her in front of the whole school.

Especially, when Ben took off his jersey and threw it to her, making the people around her gasp as she scrambled to get it.

Lonnie and Kristi squealed beside her while Maddie gave her a teasing smirk. A wolf whistle soon followed from the field.

There, George and Jay gave her teasing looks while Carlos just looks happy to be dancing around carelessly.

"Cause my love for you is ridiculous." Ben sang, from the field. "I never knew-" The crowd yelled who knew? "That it could be like this."

Ana laughed when Ben rode the horse mascot, still singing. He leaned back, falling down while his team mates caught him.

After that, he was suddenly launched to the bleachers, the crowd carried him to her direction.

Ana's eyes widened as she realised this, she turned around trying to make a run for it, too embarrassed to stay.

"Oh no you don't, Missy!" Lonnie laughed as she gripped the red head's arm, keeping her in place.

Ana was about to protest, but Ben was suddenly in front of her with a charming smile, making her knees weak at the sight of it.

"And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss, come on now."

Ben leaned in quickly to kiss her, but she moved her head away quickly making him kiss her cheek instead .

Of course, she wanted to kiss Ben, but not in front of the whole school. She didn't want her first kiss to be that way.

Ben didn't look offended, he still kept his smile and love-struck look in his eyes.

"Hey baby..." Ben whispered as he wrapped his arm over her shoulders. "I love you, Ana... did I mention that?" He said over the mic.

It was suddenly snatched away from him by Audrey who had Chad by her side. "Chad's my boyfriend now!" She exclaimed, forced smile on her lips. "And I'm going to the coronation with him, so I don't need your pity date." She said to Ben before glaring at Ana.

Ben chuckled, holding Ana close to him. "I never said I wanted you to be my date." He told the princess, who gasped in shock.

"How dare you-"

Ben ignored her, looking down at Ana. "Baby, would you go to the coronation with me?"

Ana rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. "Sure, why not?" She responded, making Ben smile wider, kissing her cheeks.

The crowd cheered at the two, happy at the pair. Ben continued to stay by her side until Jay tapped his by the shoulder, gesturing towards their teammates who waited for them.

Ben was about to shake decline, but Ana shook her head and spoke up before he could.

"Oh no, you go ahead..."

"But I want to stay with you-"

Ana looked at Ben, pleadingly. "I'll see you later, okay?"

Ben sighed, giving her puppy eyes. "Fine. I love you, okay?" He kissed her again on the cheek before walking away with Jay.

Ana froze, not knowing what to respond.

The crowd cheered even louder when Jay was carried by his team as the commentator named him the most valuable player in the game.
