                       Chapter 30

                       Tiony's pov

The feeling that something was wrong made me awake and couldn't go back to sleep, I woke up Gibbanks before going to use the bathroom and whispered when I got back. "Mi feel strange."

He kissed me and got off the bed with his gun in his hand, and I jumped as I heard an urgent knocking on our bedroom window. He pushed me behind him and glanced through the locked window. The bright light of several police vehicles shone from across Natty's yard through the trees almost a mile away, and Gibbanks opened the window quickly. "Who dat?" He asked.

"André, police and soldier dey all over di place and mi need fi hide di strap dem." André answered and said urgently.

"Mi a forward." Gibbanks told him, and I hurried to look on my son and stepson.

Gibbanks was behind me, and he lifted Artyon carefully and carried him quickly to our room, then he carried Arlem. "Lock off di outdoor cameras, clear it, and stay in here." He tells me, throwing off his white merina, then pulling on black shorts and a pair of gloves and left.

He was wet with sweat when he came back and showered without switching on the bathroom light. We then watched from the windows until daybreak, and he got Arlem ready early and rebooth the cameras, which would also automatically switched on the censor lights that he had switched off the night before. We drank our tea alone while Arlem ate his baloney and toast. I showered and took care of my hygiene in case I had to leave the house for whatever reason. Soldiers walked by the gazebo, looking up, and Gibbanks phone vibrated on the kitchen counter. He checked it and then went out as a loud knocking came on the gate.

"Good morning, officers." Gibbanks says, pretending to be surprised at seeing them.

"Good morning, we're conducting a search of the area." One of them wearing a mask told him and showed him a paper.

"Okay, sure." Gibbanks told him and opened the gate.

"Morning, you alone live here?" Another soldier greeted and asked him.

"Me, mi babymadda and mi sons, and I'm armed. I'm a licensed firearm older." Gibbanks answered and told him.

The other two who stood just inside the yard with their eyes going all over the place, eyes darted to him. "You're armed now?" The soldier asks him.

"Yes, I am." Gibbanks replies.

I didn't hear clearly what the soldier said, but I saw Gibbanks put his hands in the air and turn his back to the other two soldiers. One of them approached him and took out his gun where it was holstered in the back of his pant, and then he took out his wallet and proceeded to show them his license and identification card. He explained that he farmed marijuana for the private medical sector as well as worked full time as a manager. I listened as he explained that he did not really socialize with Natty unless they were discussing marijuana trades and that most people living here are his family who goes to work on a daily basis while some does farming for a living.

They didn't search the house, and he left with Arlem and the others who had to show the soldiers their work identification cards. It was the same for Daddy who left right after, and they stood about looking around until they left by the same route they had came and I saw that they had been more of them that wasn't in my view. I relaxed a little when Artyon woke up and desired my full attention for his breakfast. I set up my workstation and put him to play until it was time for his bath. The good thing about working from home is that I can look after my son and always take a break when necessary.
