In Heaven, Lucifer was looking through just about any book he could find that could help him find out who was responsible for his father's death... sure it was probably pointless to look here but he was running out of options.
Not to mention it had been FIVE years since Lucifer became "God" and he still had no clues! If this was a normal case of murder, it would be labeled as an "unsolvable cold case" at this point.
'I was so busy focusing on my grief and reuniting with my siblings that I never even thought of how he died... what kind of son am I?' Lucifer thought.
Even after all of these years, Lucifer was still giving himself a hard time. This time, as a son instead of a father.
He was so focused that he didn't realize that someone entering his office and walking up to him.
"Lucifer?" Sera asked.
"What is it, Sera? I'm busy." Lucifer stated, not bothering to look up to her.
"The other archangels are worried about you." She said with a frown. "You've been in here for hours."
"I'm fine, Sera. I can handle a few hours without sleep." Lucifer said.
"Lucifer-"
"I have to find out who did it!" Lucifer said, raising his voice.,"I... I can risk Heaven or Hell being in danger... and... what if this person doesn't stop at Father, what if they go after my brothers, or Jophiel... or... or my girls."
That thought also horrified Sera, making her wings twitch in fear.
'Emily!' She thought.
"Lucy is only five, she's practically defenseless." Lucifer said, concerned about his granddaughter. "If she's targeted... I don't know what to do."
Sera didn't say anything as she slowly approached Lucifer from behind, moving her arms around him in a hug.
Shocking them both by this action.
'I don't know why but....I just feel like he needs this.' Sera thought.
Lucifer didn't know what to say... or even do. He was just so lost right now. And this hug, even if it was from someone who wronged one of his daughters, helped keep him grounded for now at least.
"I'm scared, Sera." Lucifer said.
"I know, I am too, but we can get through this together. The only way to overcome fear is to be with people you trust." Sera said, even if that description didn't include herself since Lucifer didn't trust her.
"Whoever did this... will suffer." Lucifer said, his eyes flashing gold. "That's a promise."
'And I swear, to my father and myself, that's a promise I will keep no matter what!' Lucifer thought as Sera pulled away from him.
"A promise is only as good as the person who keeps it, so please take a break and get some rest. It will put your siblings at ease." Sera said before she turned and left his office.
He fell back into his chair and took his hat off.
"Maybe she's right." Lucifer said. "A small break wouldn't hurt."
His stomach growling reminds Lucifer that he missed lunch, AGAIN.
"Maybe I should take this as a chance to go see how Emily is doing." He said, patting his stomach.
'Maybe if Charlie isn't busy, we can all have lunch together? Plus, I can see my little LuLu.' Lucifer thought, smiling at the mention of his granddaughter.
She was exactly like Charlie at 5 years old, so full of energy and curiosity. Everything amazed her and she never got tired of learning.
He was so busy in heaven, he didn't realize that Charlie and Vaggie were on vacation, though it's not like he really needed to know, Charlie is an adult and the queen of Hell, she can go on vacation whenever she pleases and doesn't need Lucifer's permission.
