Captain James Hook x fem! reader

Peter Pan was shocked to see Captain Hook standing outside the entrance to his hideout, alone with no sign of his crew. He was hunched over, a sickening arch in his back as his knee bounced up and down, his fingers curling around the hook and pressing his thumb against the tip, drawing blood.

"What are you doing here, Hook," Peter asked, his hand sliding down to the dagger at his side. He motioned for the Lost Boys to get back. He wasn't sure what Hook wanted and didn't trust him.

Hook inhaled a shaky breath. "She's gone."

Peter stilled, his hand falling away from the dagger. There was only one woman who knew both of them. One woman that could leave Hook in such a state. "What?"

Hook huffed and got to his feet, turning to Peter. "Y/N is gone."

Though Neverland had blessed him with an eternity of youth, Peter didn't miss the underlying meaning of Hook's softened words. Still, he refused to believe that he spoke the truth. This had to be an elaborate ploy of some sort to trick him and lure him out into the open. "What do you mean, gone?"

Inhaling a long breath, Hook lifted his hand, allowing Peter to see his palm as sparks flickered off the pale skin. "I found the power of the First Star."

Peter scoffed. "Only a fool would search for a cursed power."

"WELL, I WAS A FOOL! AND Y/N WAS THE PRICE I PAID!"

The forest fell silent as Hook's scream echoed across the island, and Peter felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach.

"Y/N was the price?"

Hook nodded, lowering his hand. "The First Star demanded a price. I didn't think that it would be anything like what it was." He paused. "She's been turned to stone."

"What?"

Hook lifted his silver hook and gestured to the shadowed forest behind him. A duo of pirates stumbled out, ropes slung over their shoulders as they dragged a statue into the sunlight.

It was just as Hook had said. Y/N had been turned to stone. Her lips were parted as if screaming, her feet forever trapped mid-step, her hand outstretched towards the sun. Peter glanced at Hook, ensuring he wouldn't try anything, before approaching Y/N. He reached out and gently brushed the stone of her outstretched hand, his fingers meeting her palm. There was no warmth between the touch, no spark of life. Y/N was well and truly gone.

Peter's hand curled into a fist as he rounded on Hook. "YOU DID THIS, HOOK!" He drew his dagger and flew at Hook, pinning the man to a sharp boulder, his dagger lodged in the crook of Hook's neck. "YOU KILLED HER!"

Hook didn't bother defending himself. Peter was right. He had killed Y/N. And he had realised too late just how much he loved her.

A flicker of emotion crossed Peter's gaze when he noticed Hook failing to respond. The boy could have sworn he saw the start of tears in the pirate's eyes, and he slowly lowered his dagger. He stumbled off of Hook and turned away, his shoulders tensing for a moment as Tinker Bell jingled at him, but they fell slack a second later. He inhaled a long breath and glanced over his shoulder at Hook. "Tink says there's a way to save her."

Hook's gaze shot up from the ground. "How?"

"Your new power," Peter said, gesturing to Hook with his dagger. "There's a spell. A ritual. If we do it right, Y/N will be free."'
