Renar frozen at the order, but he wasn't scared.

'I can't believe it, is this the moment I've been waiting for for so long?' Renar was quite excited, but at the same time he was a little anxious.

Devland stopped in front of him.

"I think you've been committed to your job so far, Ren." Devland begins. "I have monitored every single one of your communications outside and inside the palace, and nothing suspicious has been found."

'Well, not surprising.'

Devland looks him straight in the eye. "I'm still not sure of your goals, but as long as you keep this up, then I won't kill you." He says, smiling.

Renar rolled his eyes internally. 'Thank you?'

His eyes did not leave him for one second. "Last time you specified a role that was unfamiliar to me, explain it better to me."

Renar stopped thinking, and his eyes shone immensely. “The role I talked about, Your Grace, I called the personal secretary role.”

Devland hummed. "If I'm not mistaken, what you said last time was that you wanted to strengthen my connections and schedule, is that what personal secretary does?"

Renar nodded. "A personal secretary has to handle schedules, meetings and communications, Your Grace!"

Devland looked at him wikedly, "I see, then from today on," He pulled out a box. "I officially declare you my personal secretary."

Renar stared at it for a few seconds, knowing what it was, and then took it in his hand, smiling brightly, unable to help himself. "Thank you very much, Your Grace, I am honored."

Devland watched him smile, eyes widening, it was a scene that was embedding itself in his brain involuntarily.

Meanwhile Renar opened the box, and as expected, it contained the badge with the symbolic eagle engraved in it that the other three secretaries also possessed.

Devland snapped out of it at the cracking sound of the box opening. “If you don't know yet, with that badge you have access everywhere, even the Imperial palace, so keep it with you at all times, understand?”

"I understand, Your Grace."

He stood there, saying nothing for a few seconds, as if thinking deeply about something. "Mh, you're dismissed now, Ren."

"Thank you, Your Grace. I'll see you tomorrow, have a good night."

Renar walked slowly out of the room, but his pace quickened and quickened with every second that passed him, until he was running.

'I can't believe it, I can't believe it, I can't believe it!!!'

His eyes started to get teary right after he slammed the door to his room behind him, he was just too happy.

"Finally! Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!" He started jumping around the room, as if he got his first job ever.

'This is my first huge step, after this, saving everyone won't just be a dream...!'

He began to feel a little overwhelmed by the situation, and shed a few tears.

'My sisters, I wonder how they would react to such an idiotic reaction.' He started to chuckle at the thought, but then let out a sigh.

'Finally from today everything will get serious, but honestly, I feel ready.'

Devland was looking out the large window of his office. "Renar Borgia..."

Before it was a name totally unknown to him, a person that he he didn't need to know and that he didn't need to see, and yet now he couldn't stop thinking about him.

He had never felt so much interest in a person, mostly because no one has ever been as perfect as him, while also being such a liar.

'Ren is definitely hiding something, and even though I think about it constantly, it doesn't make me instantly want to kill him...but at the same time, it's weird.'

He was quite confused about it, in the past, whatever distracted him, he didn't hesitate to destroy it because he didn't feel perfect anymore, but with him it was different.

Because theoretically Devland should know everything about him after the countless research done on his life, yet it was as if he knew nothing.

'Never received a proper education, never received love from either of his parents, yet he is capable of being so intelligent and empathetic, how is this possible?' He couldn't understand it, for the first time, he feels like an open book in front of that person, while it should've been the opposite.

And just thinking about it drove him crazy.

'The way he acts around me, it's like he's known me for a long time, like he's always looked at me through another person! And yet, I've never even seen it...while he did.'

The thought excited him, but at the same time, it made him so angry to the point that he wanted to lock him up somewhere and interrogate him.

'But he won't like something like that, right? Hah, why am I even thinking about his feelings...'

He started laughing at his own confusion.

'My decision to make him my secretary was too sudden, but I don't regret it right now. I just wonder if I'll be able to discover something more, a clue.'

Yes, with every passing minute, he couldn't help but be hungry for Renar's secrets, which no one else could ever find out.

"Please spare me!" He screamed, on his knees with snot and tears all over his face.

Renar was already feeling the need to sigh heavily on his very first day as a personal secretary.
