The feeling of incredible warmth and happiness didn't leave Jisoo either a day or a week later. Jennie seemed to be trying to show her her real self more. Increasingly, she began to talk about her childhood and her family. So Jisoo found out that her father often took her and her sister to work, trying to spend as much time with them as possible, despite her busy schedule, and her mother baked the most delicious pies in the city and kept a small pastry shop until the eldest of the daughters left to study. The mother missed Ella and decided to compensate for this by communicating with her younger daughter. So in high school, Jennie felt overprotected by her parents, but she was even glad of it.

Jisoo was delighted that she was learning more about the girl, but inside there was still a feeling of understatement. Jennie never went into details, didn't mention where she studied and practically did not talk about anything that happened after graduation. Jisoo didn't put pressure on her, realizing that it was during that period that some traumatic event could have happened that pushed her life to start sliding downhill.

Several weeks passed unnoticed for Jisoo. Nothing mattered to her except their relationship. She had never experienced anything like this with anyone before. That's probably what happens when you meet the right person. It was as if Jennie could feel her. She could easily support any conversation, starting with completely stupid banter with each other, ending with serious conversations about Jisoo's experiences. And the sex was great.

However, rose-colored glasses break sooner or later. Their relationship was developing at an insane rate, and with exactly the same speed, Jisoo's eyes were opening to the fact that everything was actually not so perfect. Deep down, she always knew this, she wasn't an idiot, but it was much easier to turn a blind eye to all the oddities and force herself not to think about anything. It's much easier that way.

It's easier to dismiss Lisa, who says that Jennie uses the girl for some vile purposes of her own, that an addict can't just abruptly stop using drugs just because of the power of love alone. This does not happen in life, this is not a children's fairy tale with a happy ending. To all Jisoo's assurances that she would notice if Jennie started taking something again, that there would be marks on her hands, changing the size of pupils or oddities in behavior, Lisa only sighed heavily, saying that the brunette was so blinded by love that she would not notice even if she had already sold half of her things. Jisoo didn't believe it. She refused to believe it. She knew Jennie, she saw her every day. Because of this, the girl quarreled with Lisa, did not talk to her for several days, defiantly ignoring her, although then she always put up with her.

Maybe it happened because of Lisa's words, or maybe Jisoo herself suddenly began to notice something that she did not want to see before, but it happened. After a few weeks of endless tenderness and happiness, the carefully constructed illusion began to fall apart like a sand castle.

How did it all start? Perhaps it began with the fact that one day when Jisoo returned from work, she did not find Jennie at home. No, of course Jisoo understood that the brown-haired girl doesn't sit all day in four walls. Jennie took over the grocery shopping duties, so she probably went to the store, yes, and the number of her things in the house periodically increased, which indicated that Jennie brought them from her apartment... or any other place where she used to live. Jisoo doubted that Jennie had her own separate apartment, and if she did, it was scary to imagine what she might look like. After all, they often went for walks together to nearby parks. In any case, Jennie wasn't her pet, but Jisoo felt somehow uncomfortable when she came home after work and did not find the girl there. This has never happened before. Jennie always greeted her after work with already warmed-up food and gentle kisses. That evening, the brown-haired girl returned an hour after Jisoo's arrival, saying that the weather was great outside, and she did not keep track of time while walking in the park.
