Jisoo's sleep was interrupted too abruptly. She opened her eyes wide, not knowing where she was. The curtains were tightly drawn, so that the room was pleasantly dim, which did not help to recover at all. The brunette's body ached uncomfortably from tension, and her wrists and hips gave off a dull pain in those places where there were clear bruises from a painful grip. Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest, apparently in her dream she was reliving the horror of the previous night, although now she did not remember it. All Jisoo understood was that she was alone in a gloomy room, she was wildly scared, and tears were uncontrollably rolling down her cheeks.
-Jisoo? Hey, honey, hush.- Jennie's voice sounded next to her quite unexpectedly, and a moment later Jisoo was already in her soothing arms, feeling tears dripping on her from the brown-haired girl's hair.- It's okay, you're safe. I'm here, everything's fine.
-I'm sorry, I don't know what happened.- Jisoo said guiltily when her heart rate finally returned to normal and her thoughts were in a clear order, reminding her that she was at home.
-I was in the bathroom when I heard you screaming.- Pulling back a little, Jennie kissed the girl on the forehead, carefully looking into her eyes. Judging by the soaked T-shirt stuck to her wet body and tangled wet hair, Jennie had just taken a shower, but before she could dry off, she hastily threw on her clothes and ran to the brunette.
-It's probably because of the nightmare.- Jisoo felt awkward about this situation, as if she was some kind of vulnerable weakling who couldn't control her emotions. She's stronger than that, she won't break down because of two sick bastards. It was because of this awkwardness that the girl hurried to look away from Jennie and pull away from her to get out of bed, but the brown-haired girl didn't allow, persistently pulling her back and looking into her eyes with excitement.
-Don't try to deny what happened.- Jennie spoke cautiously.- Even if you drive away the memories, they will gnaw at you from the inside. I've seen how it can affect a person. After what happened to my Mom... she tried to pretend that nothing had happened, she wanted to erase everything from her memory, but it doesn't work that way. She almost stopped sleeping, lost a lot of weight, twitched at every rustle. I was staying with Rose at the time because Mom and Dad decided to keep me away from this shit during the move, but I knew what was going on with her anyway. One day I decided to come to visit, and I found her in the bathroom with a half-empty jar of sleeping pills. Of course, she later said that she accidentally took too much, but that's bullshit. The only thing that helped her was the psychotherapy sessions, it seems that she still goes there sometimes.- The girl took a deep breath, carefully removing the disheveled hair from the brunette's face.- I know that what happened to my mom and to you are completely different things, but I think you should also see a specialist to avoid any consequences. I'm always there if you need to talk or anything, but I'm not a doctor. I want to make sure that you feel good.
-I don't think I need anyone's help.- Frowning, Jisoo pulled away from Jennie and got out of bed.- I'm fine. Is that clear? And I'm really going to forget this night, so stop looking at me like I'm a beaten puppy!- The girl froze herself, realizing how much she had raised her voice, almost shouting. Damn nerves, she didn't want that at all.- I'm sorry. Let's just not talk about it anymore, okay. I'm going to take a shower, and when I get out of there, we can go on with our lives as if the last week never happened.
Jennie could only look after the girl who had swiftly disappeared through the door and sigh. You can't help someone who doesn't want to....
After the shower, Jisoo felt much better. Coming out of the bathroom, she noticed that the wall clock showed the beginning of the sixth evening. She took a nice nap.
Pleasant smells and the clink of dishes came from the kitchen. There was already a box of buns on the table from an institution on the next street, where Jisoo was a regular customer, and cups of fragrant freshly brewed coffee were steaming nearby. Jennie, already dressed in her favorite worn jeans and a clean shirt, with a careless bunch of wet hair on her head, holding a fork between her teeth, was laying eggs and bacon on plates by the stove. It was such a cozy picture that Jisoo involuntarily admired, standing in the doorway, feeling the warmth spreading in her chest.
