Five Hargreeves never thought he'd see the day Josie Parker was lying lifeless beside his brother Luther. He lost two people in the same day, in the span of an hour. He should've checked to see what was wrong— not allowing her to get the ice for their room.He should've protected her more, on his knees as he had her head in her lap. Diego and Lila were right beside him, looking at the way she was cut, Luther being the same. "It was the guardian, I mean the door is open." Lila pointed out, everyone seeing it be half open.
This was his fault, tears running down his face, finally showing emotion, Diego seeing his brother nearly breakdown. Sloane was trying to get Luther to wake up, but either way something was wrong.
Not being able to think or breathe, it was like her death was an extension to practically killing him, Diego rubbing his brothers back, trying to tell him it'll be okay. "Hey, they were just getting ice and happened to be here at the wrong time. This is nobody's fault." Diego told him, five scoffing and looking at his brother.
"It's my fault, I told her to get the ice and she obviously saw Luther in trouble— or maybe the opposite— fuck I don't know, I just want her back. Bring her back!" Five yelled, getting more mad now, ignoring Reginald's presence when he came into the room.
She was knee deep in sand, furrowing her eyebrows as she was alone, in a place that was filled of sand, crying out to someone to hear her. Was she dead? Where was she?
Calling out names, Josie squinted her eyes when she saw two chairs in the distance, a girl on her bike going past her. "Hello?" She asked, seeing two chairs turn, Josie walking a little faster when she saw who it was, gasping to see Klaus and Luther, rushing over.
"Jo-Jo! You're here too?" Klaus asked, Josie seeing a chair for her, noticing pizza and beer. "Exactly where are we?" She asked, excited to see two people she knew, Luther smiling at her.
"We're in the middle of death, it's like purgatory I guess." Klaus told the two, Josie and Luther looking at each other. "WHAT?!" They yelled, Josie feeling a little hyperaware of where she was, staring at Klaus for help.
"Welcome to my hood." Klaus smiled, Josie needing to calm down for a moment, hyperventilating. "Dead? I can't be dead! I have a lot to live for." Josie hyperventilated, Luther looking at her.
"You're physically 16– nobody takes you seriously." Luther told her, Josie slapping his arm, hating that he said that to her. "Don't poke the bear." Klaus warned, the two of them staring at him, Josie ready to attack him.
"Why the hell are we in the sand? And why did Reggie kill me?!" Josie asked, Luther looking at her. "He killed me too." He told her, the girl sighing at him.
"You idiot, obviously I know that, I was trying to save you." Josie argued, Luther looking at her, knowing they did the very opposite of saving.
"Fix this Klaus! Take us back to our better halves!" Luther told his brother, Josie liking that she was mentioned. "We can't, plus I don't want to, I belong here." Said Klaus, Josie ready to prance on him, Luther holding her back.
"Let me kill him." Luther told her, Josie looking at the big guy. "We're already dead." She mumbled, suddenly watching Klaus fly in the air, suddenly disappearing.
"Oh me next!" Josie giggled like a school girl, Luther rolling his eyes, picking her up and throwing her. Squealing as she fell into a trampoline castle, Josie began to jump in it with Klaus and Luther having a serious talk.
"Josie don't you want to go back?" Luther asked her, Josie also very content right now, raising a finger so she can stop bouncing. "Of course I wanna go back, but I think we're stuck here." She told the two, deciding to do a cartwheel, squealing on how she can still do it, the brothers looking at each other.
Coming out of the bouncy castle, Josie saw it be a birthday party, walking over to see if there were any snacks. "What?! We're dead but we can't eat?" She gasped, Luther right behind her.
There was no cake, no snacks, and not even a drink in sight. Suddenly she was hungry, thirsty and exhausted all rolled into one, Luther grabbing her to make her focus.
"Josie, listen to me. I sent Klaus back." He told the girl, Josie trying to find a point. "Can he do that? There was only one portal." Josie asked, remembering what Reggie did.
"Did you really try and save me?" Luther asked, the girl looking up with a smile. "Out of the brothers, you've been the one to really come around for me, Luther. When I first met you, you were a total dick and I wish the apocalypse took you to be honest. But now, I wish nobody killed you." Josie told him, trying to be sentimental, Luther not liking where that went.
"I'm glad five found you, you two are good together." Luther told her, Josie patting his arm. "Go and get your wife big guy." Josie told him, Luther furrowing his eyebrows.
"Don't you want to see five?" He asked her, Josie nodding her head. "Five and I have all of our life to be together, death won't come in our way. Sloane needs you more, so go get conjured big guy."
Smiling at him, Josie knew she'd see five, Luther deciding to give her a big hug, kissing her head. "You're the best sister I could have." He whispered, Josie appreciating that, letting him go.
Turning to see the kids surrounding her, Luther was suddenly gone, Josie looking at the kids. "How long have you guys been here?" She asked, all the kids yelling out different things.
"Stranger danger!" One of them yelled, Josie taking great offence to that, deciding to go back in the bounce house to not keep crashing.
Laying down and looking at the sky, Josie closed her eyes for a moment, wondering if she does will she be forever dead?
She didn't know how long she closed her eyes for, waking up and being in an elevator, wondering if she was still in the void, watching the elevator beep and open the doors. Confused, Josie felt all eyes on her, gasping when she realized she was back, looking at someone in particular.
"Parker?" Five mumbled, Josie smiling a little. "There she is!" Klaus cheered, Josie and five staring at each other, walking over.
"I thought I lost you." Five whispered, Josie shaking her head. "You'll never lose me five, I'm here for a reason." Josie told him, hugging him tightly.
Turning to see Luther be with Sloane, Diego and Lila, there was no Allison, wondering how they got here in the first place. Something felt off, looking at five, hearing empty thoughts.
"Wait a second, guys, I can't read of your minds." Josie told them, all of them looking at her. "I thought invisibility was your power?" Asked Diego, Josie smirking, hiding the other power she had.
"Oh you don't believe me? Diego didn't know what sentient meant." Josie said, pointing to Diego and remembering how long he sat on that thought. "Says the one who didn't know nefarious." He said back to her, five trying to get everyone to focus.
"Try blinking." Josie told five, the boy feeling defeated, staring at her. "Oh my god she's right." Said Diego, not being able to play with his knives.
"But I need my telepathy." Josie whined to Five, the boy smiling at her, happy that she was just back from the dead.
"What do we do then?" Asked Sloane, holding Luther's hand, the two looking at everyone. "Live our lives? Clearly all is well in the world." Lila suggested, Josie and five looking eachother.
"The happy ending we always wanted." Josie whispered, watching Sloane and Luther take off almost instantly, Diego and Lila going another way.
"Shouldn't we try to get our powers back?" Asked Viktor, Josie shaking her head. "Maybe we should be like any other civilian." She suggested, five liking the sound of that, grabbing her hand.
"Let's go get that happy ending." Five told her, the two beginning to walk away, Josie wondering if they should buy a house, get a cat or a dog— or anything for this matter.
She was just excited to be with Five.
