"How is it, that the best two dressed people are the ones who are physically teenagers?" Asked Allison, Josie and five turning to look at everyone, getting out of the car, seeing them in sweats or jeans, long trench coats and all.Josie saw how Five resorted back to his suits, smiling at her outfit, putting a lot of effort into it, hoping she'd be back in the club, not wanting to be going to new grumpson maine.
"Because all of you don't know how to dress— including my own sister." Josie said in a disapproving tone. "I have three kids." She told her sister, squinting her eyes to not laser eyes.
"It's showing." Josie told her, all heading to the car, Josie and five needing to sit in the front, both looking at each other. Looking down at her phone, Josie wished she could go back to that day they saw but at burning building, go back to before five was recruited for the CIA, needing the chaos in his life.
"You still have that picture." Five pointed out, Josie swallowing the lump in her throat, nodding her head. "It's my favourite picture of us, in all the other ones you refuse to smile." She told him, five smirking a little, trying to not smile right now.
"It's called being candid." He teased, Josie putting her phone away, Diego watching the two interact while all the other siblings were yelling at each other. Josie nor five noticed anyone else speak, also noticing the ring he made out of string be on her middle finger instead of her ring finger.
It was clear she wasn't over him, because why would she be? "For the next six hours you wanna sit beside me?" Five asked her, knowing she was in between Diego and him. "Oh yeah it's fine, is that okay with you?" She asked, five nodding at her.
"Is uh, the CIA treating you well?" Josie felt the need to ask, everyone not feeling very good, Josie's stomach being hard as a rock right now. "Oh yeah, got my own office." He said, Josie sighing sadly.
It was too awkward to even speak to him sometimes.
"Good, good." Josie said with a fake smile, the two finally being aware of their surroundings, Josie hating the song that was playing. "Turn that baby shark shit off!" Josie told him, hitting the stereo.
"I can't' it's stuck." Diego argued, Josie wanting to switch spots already. "Who was that person you were on the phone with earlier? Luna?" Five asked Josie, the girl looking at him.
"Oh she's my assistant, she's so great. She reminds me of Luther and Sloane sometimes." She said, five quite admiring her in these moments.
"Diego what happens when we have to pee?" Josie looked towards Diego, the man shaking his head. "No we're not stopping, we're making great time."
"Okay so then where do I pee? Because I gotta go." Josie demanded, Diego looking at her. "Yeah I'm not feeling too hot back here." Said Allison, her stomach rumbling.
Diego refused to stopped, scooting over and slamming on the breaks, everyone rushing out to take care of themselves for a moment, Diego yelling. "What the fuck—"
"No no! I wasn't about to pee in a van with ten people." Josie told him, needing to go pee, glad she had napkins in her big ass purse, feeling refreshed. It was weird that she wasn't feeling bad as the others, everyone still throwing up everywhere.
"How come you're not feeling bad?" Asked Klaus, Josie also wanting to know that. "I'm feeling so bad, but I've never felt better." She told him, Klaus putting his mask back on.
Josie was falling in and out of sleep, sometimes lying on Diego's shoulder or on fives, needing a pillow or some sort as they continued driving. Hearing Diego slap himself awake, everyone but the three in the front were sleeping, however Josie was still trying to fall back asleep.
"Can I ask you a question?" She heard Diego asked five, currently leaning on Diego's shoulder, making sure she was still sleeping. "Sure." Said five, Diego making sure to not move around for her.
"Why'd you break up with her? She always told us you were a piece of shit liar and then would leave the room." Said Diego, Josie trying to not laugh at that, hearing five snicker a little.
"There were a good three years where I was happy, I had Josie, we were about to get a dog. We had our happy ending, but I felt like I needed more— I was an assassin, that just doesn't go away. I needed to join the CIA, I lied and said I was recruited which made it worse." Hearing five say all of this, he paused for a moment.
"I fucked it up. I fucked up our relationship because I couldn't see myself settling for a life. Maybe she's right, I'm an addict for chaos, which is why I'm making us do this."
"If that ever happened to me and Lila I wouldn't forgive myself, sure things are different but our love for each other never changed. All I've wanted was kids and I wouldn't trade them for the world." Diego said, looking at the girl that was on his shoulder, five smiling at her.
"Would she even take me back?" Five asked, Josie wanting to say yes, trying her hardest to not move. "Dude you're still her phone wallpaper, she doesn't sleep on your side of the bed. There are multiple photos of you in the apartment. When you two broke up, Lila stayed with her for a week, she would only talk about you." Diego said, laughing a little at how infatuated she was with five.
"I still love her." Five blurted out, Josie's heart beating a little faster. "You're a good brother five, she'll come back to you, she's not like the rest. No normal girl goes through three apocalypses and suddenly walks away from it. Shes the best person for you."
Pretending like she was tossing and turning, Josie decided to rest on fives shoulder, his touch going soft. I will always love you. She heard fives thoughts.
Nestling into his shoulder more, five rested his head on top of her. "I know." She whispered, five continuing to stay there.
