Part 2:
Ala's POVMy mom and Kassie were coming this week and I couldn't be more excited. It was Tyler and I's first appearance. I have been beyond nervous this whole time and I'm sure the actual day of the show I may barf.
"Ala we've got to go pick up your mom and Kassie." Nash called from downstairs. We'd grown a lot closer through all of this, he basically lives here now but goes home to sleep, which is progress from before when he would just sleep here.
"Coming." I yelled back slipping on my shoes. I ran down the stairs earning a concerned glance from Nash. "What?" I asked examining myself wondering what was wrong.
"No, you look fine. But you shouldn't run down those stairs they are very dangerous." He warned, I only laughed.
"Thank you dad, I'm glad I've got you here to protect me from the evil staircases of this world." I joked.
"It's not funny, you're in my best interest." Nash smirked pulling me in closer to him by my waist.
"Would you stop flirting with me." I joked again pushing him off and walking toward the front door.
"Oh you love it." He called for me. I just shook my head and laughed as he followed. "Ala?" Nash broke the silence in the car.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Would you ever date me?" He asked nervously.
"What?" I questioned.
"I mean, you know how I feel about you and I dont know if I'm getting the wrong vibe, but it actually seems like you're starting to like me too."
"I do like you Nash." I admitted.
"So would you be my girlfriend?"
"No." He looked shocked. "If you're going to ask me out, I prefer you put in a little more effort than just 'I dont know, I like you, you like me, let's date'. I'm not that easy."
"Trust me I know." Nash joked. I smiled. "So what are you expecting. A picnic, a hot air balloon?" He asked.
"I dont know, something with effort."
"Got it." He said interested. Would I really say yes?
We got to the airport where my mom was waiting with Kassie and someone else. Who else did she bring? I got out of the car confused. The girl looked up and I screamed. Tessa. She wasn't supposed to come. Not that I cared or anything.
"Tessa!" I screamed. She smiled and came over hugging me. "I can't believe you came." I said excitedly. She seemed different but I didn't bother to pay attention to it.
"I missed you too." She smiled again. I moved on and hugged my mom and Kassie.
"Hi baby, how's it going?" My mom asked.
"Good." Nash went down the line and hugged everyone, taking extra time when he got to Tessa. They worried me. Tyler was here. How was that going to go down?
"So Nash. Ala told me you guys have been spending a lot of time together. When are you going to ask her out?" Kassie gleamed. Oh shit, I forgot about Tessa. I immediately looked at her. Her face dropped and she gave me a questioning look. Nash scratched the back of his neck also feeling awkward.
"Kassie, shut up." I said quietly.
"Ala, do not tell your sister to shut up." My mom scolded.
"It's okay Ala. And Its complicated Kassie." Nash responded. Things turned awkward. We all rode to the loft in silence. I unlocked the door and saw Tyler sitting on the couch watching something on the television. He looked over and his eyes widened when he saw Tessa. Love plastered his face and I smiled at how much he adored her.
"Tessa?" He asked smiling widely.
"Uh, hi. I didn't know you were here." She said.
"Yeah, I'm staying with Ala until I find a place." The smiled on his face never left.
"Oh." She replied.
"Why are you so, awkward right now?" He questioned becoming suspicious.
"What do you mean awkward I'm fine." She answered nervously.
"Okay?" I knew he didn't believe her, but what good came from arguing.
"So Ala, what are the sleeping arrangements I'm exhausted." My mom asked breaking the tenseness. The intensity building up in the room was so thick I thought we all might drown in it.
"Well uh, I guess I didn't think that through." I replied trying to come up with a quick solution.
"My dearest love, Tessa, can stay with me." Tyler gleamed pulling her into him. Nash closed his fist in jealousy not taking his eyes off of them once. I immediately grew angry at him. Why would he want me to be his girlfriend and say he loves me when we both know he loves Tessa more, when we both know she loves him more? How could he just seemingly forget that thirty minutes ago he was pulling me into him and flirting terribly, while worrying deeply about my safety?
"Mom you can have the extra room and Kassie can stay with me." I concluded.
"Are you sure?" My mother asked.
"Positive." I replied. Everyone retrieted to their designated rooms besides Nash and I. He pulled me back from everyone and we escaped outside the loft to talk. "What do you want?" I asked annoyed with him. I wasn't in the mood for his bipolar love.
"Why are you mad at me? You've been mad at me ever since your your mom, Kassie and Tessa showed up."
"Are you an idiot?" I asked him.
"What does that have to do with anything?" His ignorance was almost unbearably annoying.
"You were head over heals in love with me, but then when Tessa showed up you couldn't seem to take your eyes off her. And you couldn't control your jealousy when Tyler was simply touching her." I explained. He smirked slightly, which only made me grow more angry at him.
"Are you jealous?" He asked laughing so lowly I could barely hear it.
"I'm not jealous I just don't want to get caught up with you when I know you're in love with my best friend." He stayed silent stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"I'm sorry. But I'm just a little confused. I barely even know her it's just an attraction that I can't quite seem to figure out. I do know though, that I really really like you. I would even go as far to say I love you. So please, just give me time to figure things out." He explained. I was still mad. I couldn't just wait for him to make up his mind on who he really liked. I wouldn't just wait, I had better things to do.
"Okay." I decided to just let him figure it out, because quite honestly I wasn't sure what I really wanted either.
"Hey." He lifted my chin and locked our gaze together. I almost felt like I was drowning in his eyes, the sea of blue. "I care about you, a lot. I only want you to be happy." My gaze fell to the floor. He reacted almost immediately and connected our lips. "I'm sorry, I'm being an ass." He apologized.
"I'm used to it." I instantly thought of Matthew. All the times he was an ass. All the times I cried over a stupid boy. I had almost completely forgotten him. We haven't spoken in a while. And it didn't hurt anymore. He didn't amaze me with his charm the way he used to. It was finally over. I was no longer trapped in that emotion that had no name. The feeling of passion, sadness, love, and anger all fused together in one. Eating me away.
"I know your talking about Matt. And you didn't deserve all the shit he put you through. The fact that you lasted six months with the jerk amazes me. And it proved to me you can handle anything, only one of the many reasons I'm in love with you."
