Part 1:
Matthew's POV
"Ala. Ala wake up." She stirred in her sleep and sat up confused.
"Matthew?"
"Yeah. I know you had a headache so I got you some medicine."
"What? Did you walk?" She asked, I nodded. "Why would you do that for me.""
"Because I love you." I couldn't stare in her eyes, I felt too bad for what I was allowing her to process through her body. She trusted me and I'm about to drug her, what was I thinking. But my mind beat my heart and I gave her the pill and a glass of water. I closed my eyes as she took it, I couldn't bare to watch her ingest this. I opened my eyes, she took it, there was no going back. If something happened to her I couldn't fix it, there is no escaping it now. Which scared me. But I had to remind myself this was for her safety, for her safety, her safety, safety. I took a deep breath.
"Matthew are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine." I answered bluntly. She yawned, the medicine already kicking in to her system.
"I love you too Matthew." She answered and her body went limp as she slowly started falling, I caught her in time so I could gently lay her on the bed. God did I hope she was only sleeping. I slowly let her head sink into the pillow. She was so beautiful, even asleep.
"I'm so sorry... I love you so much Ala." I said kissing her hand. But the only thought running through my mind was the fact that I drugged the love of my life, to forget my weakness, and dishonor. But it was for good wasn't it? To protect her from the nightmares and haunting day dreams. The imprinted pictures her brain takes of every sight she sees. That would all be washed away, and the only thing she would remember was being happy today. Which is something she craved, happiness. I could give that to her by erasing the bad and writing the good, and I could finally be the man she wants me to be. I can finally protect her from the evil. From Fulton. From the horrible thing I did to put us in this position. Why was this happening? Why couldn't I be the boy my fans see me as? The perfect, innocent, harmless Virginia boy. Who is caring and tender and would never hurt a fly. The boy who could do no bad, but only good. But my fans only know the part they see, the parts I display. They only see the screen, and the millions of pixels in that screen to form my face. They don't really see me at all. Just an illusion of me, passed through, screen by screen. Which blows my mind a little bit. How could they love me so much, when all I am to them is a bunch of pieces put together to form my face, my arms, my legs? How could they love me, when all I am to them is just a screen, I pixelation of their mind? How? These questions haunted me. I sat at my desk with my laptop and opened my scripts I've been working on for YouTube. I finished at four in the morning, I knew I would be extraordinarily tired tomorrow. So I decided to sleep hoping for a dreamless night. Wrong.
***Dream.***
"Matthew wake up. The day is practically over." I heard. I ignored the familiar voice and rolled over falling off of the bed. When I stood to my feet I only saw darkness. I didn't see the person waking me up, I didn't see the bed I had fallen out of. I only saw black, just black.
"Matthew..." I heard faintly. "Matthew..." I heard again, who was it.
"Hello?" I asked the darkness.
"Matthew help me." The person cried.
"Tell me where you are."
"Matthew!" This time the voice screamed. I knew that scream all to well. Ala, she's in trouble, she's hurting, she's in danger.
"Ala where are you." I cried.
"Matthew, protect me!" She screamed.
"I'm trying. I can't find you." I turned in a circle and spotted a small figure laying on the ground. I made my way to it slowly. "Ala?" She looked up, her face was pale, she looked so skinny and she was shaking. I barely recognized her. "Ala what happened?" I asked crouching next to her.
"You happened." She spat.
"What?"
"You drugged me. How could you? I would've rather remembered. Look what your harmless brain washing drug did to me. I'm dying, it's all your fault." She cried. I looked at her in disbelief.
"No, Ala. I didn't mean to, please don't leave me. It's not my fault." I pleaded.
"Yes it is! It's all your fault! I hate you!" I stared in silence. The words I feared the most slipped from her colorless lips. "I hate you Matthew Espinosa. I hate you." I just stared, she hated me. She hated me. A world Ala Dausonn doesn't love me is a world I choose to never have existence in.
"Matthew!" I heard another voice scream. I turned to the sound, Lauren was holding her large stomach screaming. "Matthew the baby is coming now. Help me!" I looked back to Ala slowly slipping away from presence.
"Matthew if you kiss me I'll stay alive, I won't die. Save me, and I won't hate you." Ala cut in.
"No Matthew if you don't help me this second your daughter will die." Lauren cried. "I'll die."
"If you help her, I die." Ala said.
"Who's it going to be Matthew your ungrateful girlfriend. Or your precious baby, that hasn't even had a chance to live." Lauren explained, I looked back and forth between the two.
"If you help her, you will loose me. If you help me, you will loose a person you've never even met. Besides why would you help her, she raped you." I couldn't decide. I wanted to save Ala, we could have our own children, our own family. But then again, I would be the worst dad, I wouldn't forgive myself, for not giving that girl a chance. She could've ended up the first girl president. A legendary doctor. A pop star that takes over the world. She could become something so big, but she never got a chance. But Ala. I can't leave Ala. I couldn't live without her. I never can, I never will. I had to decide, they were both slowly suffering. Screaming for my help. Why couldn't I help both of them. If I kissed Ala and ran to Lauren, I could help both of them right? It was worth a try wasn't it? I leant down slowly. My lips connected to Ala's and she miraculously turned tan again, her normal weight, she looked normal. I got up and ran to Lauren, she looked at me so hurt.
"Bye Matthew." Lauren whispered looking down at her stomach.
"No!" I yelled diving towards her. My arm reached out, but before I could lay a finger on her she disintegrated into the black. I felt terrible. There was no way for happiness out of this. Yes I still had Ala but... But... She wasn't enough anymore. She wasn't worth it.
***End Of Dream***
"Why did I choose you! You weren't worth it Ala! Why did I choose you, I hate you!" I opened my eyes, Ala was standing next to me, she looked like her dog just got hit by a truck. And I felt bad again. Why was I so stupid. "Ala I didn't mean I-." She threw the pillow she was holding in my face and walked out. "Shit." I muttered. I stood up quickly and ran after her. "Ala please, I didn't mean it, it was a dream, baby please don't leave me." I pleaded from the top of the stair case. She looked up to me from the main floor. I ran down the stairs and gripped her shoulders. She looked down. "Ala, I love you so much, I didn't mean it I promise." I whispered, she still didn't look into my eyes. It was the same feeling for her. A look into my eyes melts her and she instantly forgives me. She wouldn't look into my eyes. She didn't want to forgive me. I would make her forgive me whatever it takes. I took her chin into my hand tightly forcing her to face me. She still looked away with her eyes. "Ala look at me." I demanded. "Why won't you look at me?" I forced. No answer. "Answer me!" Still nothing. "Just look at me, look in my eyes!" I pleaded still keeping my harsh tone. I aggressively pushed her against the brick wall behind her, her arm slid across the wall, slicing it making blood spill. "JUST LOOK AT ME!" I yelled. She had no choice now and she locked her watery eyes with mine. They were glossy and I could tell she was trying her very hardest to not cry, I couldn't believe she didn't break down from the cut, that would've hurt. She tried moving her cut arm from the wall but I gripped it right above the long cut holding her elbow in place against the wall, and keeping her shoulder on the other side pushed against the wall.
"Let me go." She pleaded weakly.
"Not until you forgive me for what I said." I instructed more calmly.
"Screw what you said. Look what you did." Her voice cracked as she motioned towards her arm. I observed it. A large bloody cut ran down from her elbow to her wrist on the inside of her left arm. I looked down ashamed. In attempt to save myself from loosing her, I just hurt her more. I can't control myself, or the things I do. I do crazy things because of love, I try to protect her but I only end up letting my insanity take over and I end up hurting her myself. I don't know how she stays, I don't even know if she's going to stay after this. I feel terrible, like a big knife stabbing through my heart.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't always cut it Matthew. I'm tired of you hurting me. Im tired of running back to you after you hurt me. I'm tired of being scared of you. I'm tired of fearing a day with you, wondering if your going to hurt me. I'm tired of being weak to you. And Im tired of loving you. It hurts so bad, and I'm done with the suffering." She paused looking down.
"Ala no please. I promise-."
"No Matthew you always promise, but you never live up to those promises." She cut me off.
"No, this time it's for real. I-I promise." She shook her head and looked away from me. "Just make a deal with me."
"Stop making promises you can't keep. And stop making deals you can't win."
"Just hear me out please?" I pleaded. She sighed, giving in, but she still didn't look at me. "We were supposed to go somewhere today. Let me take you. If you don't have a good time, if I don't live up to your expectation. Then were over, if that's what you want." She thought about it.
"Fine." She agreed I sighed relieved, this was going to be perfect. It had to be.
She got dressed in what I told her to wear so she would be prepared. While she was changing there was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw Cameron and Nash standing there with worried faces,
"Did you get it to her?" Nash asked. I nodded. Cameron pushed through me and ran up the stairs to Ala's room. He knocked and the door opened he slipped in and the door closed once again. What could be happening.
"So your sure your okay? You don't feel different? You can see all your colors? You can hear everything?" Cameron said walking out of the room with Ala a couple minutes later, she was smiling. I looked down, I'm the one that took her smile, and now Cameron is giving it back to her, that should be me.
"I'm fine Cam-."
"Wait." He said looking at Ala's left arm. He held it in his hands observing the large wound I gave her. Shit. I was in trouble now. Nash stood next to me confused.
"Ala what happened?" He asked. No Ala please don't tell them, please. She opened her mouth to say something but no words came out. "Ala?" He asked again. I took a deep breath. She looked at me, a frightened look on her face. She was scared of me, she was scared if she told them I would hurt her. My soul crushed knowing the thing I loved most feared me. She thought I would abuse her. I wouldn't. I wouldn't do that to her. Never. She looked around frantically for an excuse. I just wanted her to tell the truth. I deserved the judgment. I deserved the beating. I deserved it all. Nash turned around to the wall her arm got cut on. There was blood on it. "Is this what you cut your arm on?" He asked. She nodded. "How?" He asked confused. She wouldn't say it. Why wouldn't she say it?
"Me. I did it. I pushed her against the wall, because I was angry, and it cut her. I did it, it's my fault."
"No, it's not his fault, I fell." She stuttered looking for an excuse.
"Which story is more believable. Me loosing my temper and flipping out, or her cutting her arm on the wall while tripping." At that second Nash pinned me to the wall holding my shirt.
"Why do you do this to her! Why do you hurt her like this!" He yelled punching me. I could've gotten out of his grip. I could've punched him back, but I deserved this.
"No, Nash stop!" Ala yelled.
"Ala I deserve it." I said.
"No Matthew, no you don't. Please Nash let him go." She pleaded. He looked to her with sympathy in his eyes.
"Ala he hurts you constantly, he deserves it. Let's go." Cameron growled. Trying to pull her to the stairs.
"No Cameron! No!" She screamed trying to run to me. Cameron grabbed her and picked her up carrying her up the stairs. "Don't hurt him!" She cried one last time before the door was shut. Nash looked at me.
"Why?"
"I was angry." I answered to him.
"Why?"
"I said something terrible about her in my sleep and she heard it and tried to leave but I grabbed her before she could. I knew she would forgive me if she looked into my eyes so I pushed her against the wall to force her to look at me. Her arm slid across the wall and it cut." I explained. He punched me again. I grunted, everywhere still hurt from yesterday's beating from Fulton.
"Your not gonna fight back?" He asked laughing.
"No I deserve this." I said. He laughed again.
"You sure as hell do." He said punching me in the gut. I screamed, that's where Fulton punched me the most last night. I heard Ala yell as well, probably trying to get down here. Nash punched me again in the same spot, I felt like someone was slamming a mallet into my stomach, I screamed again. At my scream Ala bursted through her door sprinting down the stairs. She threw Nash off of me, after many tries of trying to pry him off, and grabbed my face in between her hands. I looked at her amazed. How could she love me. I'm a monster, I hurt her, I destroyed her. But she still loved me. I'm living beauty and the beast. She kissed me and nuzzled herself into me wrapping her arms around my waist. Her love made all the pain go away. I wrapped my arms around her neck. Cameron came down the stairs and Nash stood up. "Ala stop. Your giving into him." Nash warned.
"I don't care. I love him. No matter what he does, I will always love him. That's just the way things are." She looked into my eyes and snapped, she forgave me that instant, I knew it.
"But Ala-."
"No buts Nash. I can't control my love for him, suffering without him will be way worse than suffering with him." He looked down and nodded. She backed away from me and Nash took her place.
"Hurt her again and no one will stop me from beating the air out of your lungs." I nodded my head and he walked out slamming the door. Cameron then walked up to me.
"Your lucky that drug did nothing but erase her memory." He whispered to me. I sighed relieved that she was fine and forgot what happened. Cameron kissed Ala's cheek and left as well.
"Are you okay?" She asked me.
"I'm fine." I answered grabbing her arm looking at it. "But your not." I carried her up to the bathroom and set her on the counter. I cleaned the cut while she squeezed my shoulder to vent the pain. I then wrapped it and kissed it. She smiled. "I love you Ala I'm so sorry."
"I forgive you. And I love you too Matthew." She connected our lips and we moved in perfect synchronization. Until a car horn honked outside. We made our way to the front door. Once out of it I closed it and locked it then picked up our bags. "Do you want me to carry something?" Ala asked I shook my head no.
"Your injured." I stated, she laughed.
We approached the silver Range Rover awaiting us. Carter was trusted with Taylor's baby while he was in Indiana, so Carter was letting me borrow the car for our long journey to the perfect destination. Carter got out of the car. DJ Mustard was pumping through the speakers. I laughed at my friends basicness and set the bags down to give him a 'dude hug' as Ala calls it. He then hugged Ala and kissed her cheek.
"Now Matthew be careful. This isn't my car. Don't try to impress Ala by speeding or something, that's not cool. Just drive. And don't get hurt." He instructed me.
"Yes sir." I answered.
"And Ala, don't let him be a bitch. If he looks tired make him stop driving, and smack his ego out of him if you have to." She nodded.
"Wait bro what are you going to do?" I asked him uncertain of how he was going to get back to his place.
"I'm chilling here." He laughed walking towards the loft. He had his own set of keys, as well and Nash, Cameron, and I, just incase. "Be safe!" He yelled at a distance, I gave him a thumbs up and opened the door for Ala. She got in and I transitioned to the trunk where I put the bags. Then I circled around to the drivers side and got in buckling my seat belt.
"You buckled?" I asked. She showed me the seat belt connected to her and I nodded starting the engine. I was determined to make this perfect. My relationship was at the line.
