Part 3:
Matthew's POV

I opened my eyes and immediately closed them again when I saw who was standing over me. Bailey's dad.
"Matthew Espinosa. I'm about to arrest you." I opened my eyes wide. Bailey sat up.
"Dad!" She yelled once she saw him. This was not good. Her dad grabbed her arm and yanked her up aggressively, luckily she had put on clothing last night.
"Bailey Francesca Westwood you are grounded for an eternity. Matthew Espinosa, I'm giving you three seconds to run before I arrest you." I stood quickly and grabbed my shirt.
"Sir, I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean to stay the night here."
"Three..."
"Dad please. I love him." Bailey begged. What was I supposed to do?
"Two..."
"Matthew go. I'll call you later."
"One..." I bolted off quickly sprinting down the stairs he raced after me. I attempted to open the front door but it was locked, I frantically tried opening it but knew it was far too late when I was slammed against the door. Both of my wrists were taken into captivity I knew exactly what he was doing when the cold metal touched my skin. I panicked and tried breaking free wiggling and doing everything I could trying to get away. But it was no use, and I heard the handcuffs lock around my wrists. Shit.
"Michael what on earth are you doing?" Bailey's mom ran into the room, Bailey following shortly behind.
"I'm performing a citizen arrest for trespassing and breaking in." He responded
"You're off duty." Bailey yelled.
"That doesn't mean anything I'm an enforcer of the law. I'm just doing my job." I clenched my jaw as I was turned around and my back was slammed against the door. The collar of my shirt was taken into his grasp. "I warned you." He whispered angrily.
"Nothing happened." I told him having no idea what to do. Ala would know how to get out of this. What would Ala do?
"I'm not an idiot Matthew." He growled. He pulled me away from the door only to painfully slam me against it. I grunted feeling the pain rush up my spine.
"I know you're not an idiot. So you should understand how teenagers work. Telling them to stay away only makes them want to come closer. I'd be lying if I said revenge wasn't involved when I screwed your daughter." I spoke angrily. He collided his fist to my face. Bailey screamed. "A police officer hitting a minor? I dont know about you Mr.Westwood but I'm pretty sure that's frowned upon, law enforcer." He clenched his jaw then turned me back around tightening the handcuffs around my wrist. I swore in pain.
"I'm done looking at you." He grabbed the collar of my shirt and opened the door dragging me outside.
"Dad he's bleeding loosen the handcuffs!" Bailey yelled. I hadn't even noticed that I was bleeding.
"Shut up Bailey, you brought this bastard into our home!" He yelled back shoving me into the car. The neighbors watched from their mailboxes and front porches. Michael sped off down the road to the police station, neither of us said a word the whole way there. Once we got to the building he dragged me in, this time pushing me by the chains connecting the two cuffs, which hurt like hell.
"Michael?" One of the officers questioned him as we walked into the door.
"Put him in a cell." He said angrily pushing me into one of the officers. I followed them to an empty holding cell, they unlocked it and took the handcuffs off of me pushing me into the cell. I sat on the bench examining my bloodied wrists. I listened in on the conversation they were having.
"Trespassing, breaking in. Which ever gets him in more trouble." Michael told them angrily.
"What happened?" One of them asked.
"I found him in bed with my daughter this morning."
"That's rough. Don't you think you're being a little hard on him Mic, you know how teens are."
"I dont care. I told him to stay away, he disobeyed and entered my house without permission."
"You would've done the exact same thing man. You used to be a player with the ladies, he reminds me of how you used to be." I muttered a little laugh trying to imagine Michael being like me. As if.
"That's exactly why I don't want him near my daughter." Suddenly an idea came to mind and I knew Ala could come save.
"Hey jackass! I know my rights! Where's my phone call!" I yelled. He walked over angrily.
"You should've thought about that before you called me jackass." He smirked.
"Michael, he gets a phone call. That's the law." One of the officers spoke walking over and unlocking the door. "Phones over there." He pointed to an old phone hanging on the wall. I smiled at Michael and waltzed over to the phone. I dialed her number.
"Hello?" She answered unfamiliar with the number.
"Hey Ala." I said dreading her reaction when she found out where I was.
"Matthew? Where are you?"
"I'm kind of in jail this time."
"Are you kidding?"
"No."
"You're such a fucking idiot. I'm going to murder you. What the hell did you do?"
"Bailey's dad caught me in her room, so he arrested me."
"I feel like I want to let you rot there for being such a dipshit." She spoke.
"Please, you can use your southern charm and Ala-ness to get me out."
"I hate you." I could hear rattling and knew she was picking up car keys so I celebrated in my head.
"I love you." I said sweetly.
"I know. Just don't say anything else while your there, lord knows you'll only make it worse." She said. "Nash, Sawyer, Tyler lets go. We're going to bail Matthew out of jail!" I heard her yell.
"Thank you. I love you."
"Yeah, whatever." She replied bitterly and hung up the phone. I hung the phone back up on the thing and was led back to the cell.
Twenty minutes later the door rang as it opened and I ran to the bars gripping them in between my soar hands. When Ala saw me she rolled her eyes and walked up to the front desk.
"Hello ma'am. How can I help you?" The one officer named Harry greeted her.
"Hi officer. I'm here to pick up my friend Matthew Espinosa. How much money is it going to cost?" She asked getting to the point.
"I'm sorry but we need someone over eighteen to bail him out. And with all due respect I'm not sure a girl your age could afford to bail him out either way." He smiled. Ala raised her eyebrows.
"Oh don't worry, the money is coming from his bank account, he's got plenty of it. And even if I was paying, I could handle it as well. Even though I'm a girl." She retaliated.
"Then that just leaves us with one issue, you're not eighteen."
"Look, sir. I know he's an idiot, I understand that a lot. But really what's the difference between me and someone two years older than me, I'm paying you the full bail."
"I'm sorry, but it's regulation." Ala sighed.
"I didn't want to have to go here. But I guess you leave me no choice." Sawyer looked at me worried. I smiled trying to tell him everything would be okay. Ala could get me out of this.
"What could you possibly use against us?"
"I couldn't help but notice his bruising eye. Obviously he didn't do that to himself, which really only leaves one of you four men, I guess it doesn't really matter which one of you punched him but the fact is that one of you punched a minor. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but that's kind of not legal. And the dried blood on his hands from handcuffs that were tightened to an unnecessary level, for no reason possible. I don't think your boss would be too happy about that either."
"Yeah so what, It's not like you can do anything about it. We can just call it self defense and get away with it."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah."
"Well then I'd love to hear what the lawyers and judge have to say about this recording." She said lifting her phone showing them the recording of the whole conversation. I smiled at my brilliant friend. I guess some things in movies do work. The police officer gulped.
"Fine, pay the bail delete the recording and you can have him."
"I don't think i'm gonna be paying a bail." She said. He sighed, and walked over. Grabbing me and pulling me to the front. I winked at Michael who looked like his head was about to pop off. (A/N yeah I know this is so unrealistic but just roll with it)
"Delete the recording." Harry instructed her. She obliged and I was pushed to where they were. Ala turned and left Sawyer and I following. Before I exited I turned back around.
"It's been real guys. Keep up the good work." I smiled at them all before walking. I ran to Ala and picked her up hugging her. "I love you so much. That was so badass dude."
"That was pretty awesome." Sawyer spoke up. Nash got out of the car and walked over.
"Hands off my girlfriend Espinosa." He said walking over. Tyler got out as well. I let her down and she took Nash's hand. "So you're free?" He asked.
"Yeah. Thanks to this brilliant girl." She smiled lightly.
"What did you do?"
"She threatened them and got them to admit that they beat Matt up and then recorded it all and it was so cool." Sawyer jumped up and down not taking one breath.
"Dude, calm down your gonna break your head open." I told him. He settled.
"Aw babe." Nash said pulling her closer. She's my babe.
"It wasn't a big deal." She said.
"I'm sure it was so hot the way you threatened them." He whispered to her. I raised my eyebrows in disapproval. Ala wasn't hot, she would never be anything less than gorgeous Nash. She gave him a small smile. I looked away.
"Matthew you need to go back and sleep or something. I'm quarantining you again." She looked toward me sternly. I pouted but knew I needed to calm down and stay out of public for a while.
We all rode back to the apartment. Ala and Tyler stayed there with us.
"Babe I'm ready." Nash came running down the stairs, a suitcase in hand. I looked at them confused.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"Tennessee. The funeral." She said softly.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I wasn't sure what to say. They were about to leave so I stood and hugged Ala. "Call me if you need to talk." I whispered. I could feel her nod. "I love you." I finished still whispering so her boyfriend didn't clobber me. She pulled away and looked at me with sad eyes while giving me the faintest smile. They walked out of the door. I stood there for a second. She didn't tell me she loved me too. Did she really not love me anymore? Was she actually serious? I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Matt? Are you okay?" I turned and saw Sawyer looking at me concerned.
"Yeah." I replied solemnly.
"What's wrong?" He asked. I sat on the couch.
"You came a little bit after all this, but Ala and I used to date actually." He furrowed his eyebrows, shocked. "She broke up with me a while ago. I still really love her, but she doesn't love me anymore. I still can't get over it."
"You like really love her huh?" He asked.
"More than anyone has ever loved something. More than words can explain. More than I can fathom."
"Does she love you?"
"I thought she did. I mean she used to, but I guess she doesn't anymore."
"You'll get her back. It's just a matter of time." Everyone told me that, Carter, my parents, and now Sawyer, yet I just can't believe it.
