Once the Empress had passed the three month mark and the Imperial Physician had confirmed that the fetus was growing strong and that there are no immediate dangers that the Empress would lose the pup as long as the Empress follows the instructions of the Imperial Physician and not steer from it than everything will be fine. One thing the Empress was thankful for though were the fact that he did not experience any morning sickness, just feelings of the occasional nausea, which he can handle with ease.
One week later, the Emperor and his Empress announced the good news. The news was received with mixed feelings, especially amongst some of the Ministers and the elders, but none of them had the guts to speak up. Many had sent their blessings and congratulations to the Emperor and Empress and along with lots of gifts for the expecting Empress and their soon to be crown prince or crown princess. The security within the palace had become even more strict, especially after the Empress had received death threats after some minsters had lost their positions within the Imperial Court.
The Emperor had not left his Empress side, not even for a second. All correspondence was done within the confinement of the cold palace. The Empress food was constantly tested for any poison before being presented to him. The Emperor, of course, did not tell his Empress about these death threats and had Nie Huaisang investigate these threats. The only other man the Emperor trusted and whom he knew had the Empress wellbeing and happiness in his heart.
The Emperor had no choice but to inform his brother, uncle, and the young minister Jiang about this. Minster Jiang was furious, and he wasn't the only one. Why can't people just not leave his brother alone and let him live in peace. But even with all of this going on, some more good news arrived at the Palace. Minster Jin Zixuan and his beloved Jin Yanli are also pregnant with their first pup and heir. The Empress upon receiving the good news wanted then and there to go his sister but was stopped by the combined efforts of the Emperor and Imperial Physician Wen. Stating that it is dangerous to travel such a long distance when they still need to keep a close eye on the Empress and the developing pup inside him.
They do not wish for anything to happen to the Empress or the pup see as the pregnancy is in a very delicate state, and the Empress needs to rest as much as possible. Fortunately for them that had settled the over excitedly Empress who did not in fact gave up on his efforts with lots of whining and pouts and teary eyes but in the end he had to because his alpha did not waver once but the Emperor did promise that as soon as young lady Jin was able to travel that she could come visit and that answer finally sated the Empress.
Qin Shu did not let go of her ambitions and desires to one day become the Empress of the nation and the Emperor's mate even after her father was imprisoned and their family had fallen from grace. She was even more determined now to do whatever it takes and she did not care who she needed to kill even if it meant killing the Empress himself.
She was no weak or meek little omega at all. She was trained in swordsmanship and during and even after the war she had familiarize herself with the different kind of fast acting poisons and how to get them easily without leading any trace back to her. Not only that, she had trained excessively in the cross and bow as well as knife throwing. Her determination and, most importantly, her hatred towards the Empress pushed her to be as deadly as she could be. She will get the opportunity sooner or later to kill that husband stealer and for being the reason that she had lost everything. Her status as a young lady and heir. The Empress was the sole reason that she was not appointed as her the next minister in her father's place.
Her heart over the years had become black with envy, jealousy and hatred and when the news reached her ears of the Empress pregnancy she was furious that she broke everything she could laid her hands while spitting curses at Empress. Her mother had long given up on her daughter and her delusions. She had moved out of the manor and found a place amongst the commoners where she could finally have some peace and quiet far away from her daughters toxic words and actions.
