The Queen had departed for the Celestial Kingdom two months ago. The goodbyes were a teary and a sad one with the promise that she would visit soon. The Empress, even though he wanted to go with his grandmother for a visit and to see how the Celestial Kingdom looked and where his mother had grown up, could unfortunately not go with. Not with him and Emperor practically who are newly wed and not only that many would try and use this to pressure the Emperor into thinking of establishing the royal harem.

Yes, many still whispered and hoped that they could put enough pressure on the Emperor to actually start considering opening the royal harem. In the meantime, the Emperor had plans of own. Plans that involved getting rid of the old faces and bringing in some new and fresher faces into the folds of the royal court. It is something that he had thought a lot about and had extended talks with his Empress, brother, and uncle, which supported him in his ideas and would give him advice on how to go about it.

Today, they are getting ready to depart to lanling for the wedding of Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli. An event the Empress had been looking forward to since the announcement was made and upon receiving their invitation. The Queen the Empress had heard had politely declined the offer to attend the wedding. She stated that she had been gone too long from her Kingdom and that there were many matters that needed her attention and things she needed to oversee personally.

The Emperor, his Empress, and brother, the first prince, departed the royal palace with the royal guards on horse back before , behind and on both sides of the royal carriages while the servants occupied the rest of the royal carriages The trek would take them two days to get to lanling, and they would arrive a day before the wedding. The Empress were exited to see his siblings again it has been too long since he had seen them, and he could not expect them to come visit not with all the wedding preparations that were going on.

The only two people the Empress were not very particularly keen on seeing were minister Jiang and his wife Yu Ziyuan. He just hopes that the woman would not cause any unnecessary trouble or display any unsavory behavior. Also, Minister Nie had been reporting that the borders were quiet and no suspicious behavior was detected. Which in itself was strange, especially since Emperor Wen was not a man who would take such blatant respect lying down and the Emperor refusing to take his niece as a Concubine. Well, it had angered the man immensely.

During their travels, the three stray away from talking about court matters and keep their conversations light. They arrived at lanling and were greeted by minister Jin and minister Jiang and their families. They kneeled before the royal family in greetings and expressed their gratitude towards the royal family for taking time to attend their two children's wedding and celebrate it with them. Once the Emperor gave them permission to raise Yanli and Jiang Cheng, take it upon themselves to personally escort the Emperor, Empress, and first prince to their quarters.

The three siblings chatted excitedly while the Emperor and the first prince just listened to where they walked a few behind them. The first door they arrived at were the sleeping quarters off the first prince.

"I do hope that the fight prince would find the room to his liking. If not, just let this one knows and I will change anything that the first prince is not please with."

Yanli said with a bow of her head.

"Thank you, young lady Jiang. I will keep that in mind."

The first prince said with a soft smile, and Yanli stepped to the side and let the first prince walk past into his offered rooms after he had bowed to his brother and Wei Ying and lady Jiang and her brother. They left and let the Emperor and the Empress towards their rooms that they would be staying in for the wedding. Upon reaching the door, they realised that they were just two doors away from the first prince quarters.
