Chapter 33

Qin Shu could heard the fast approaching footsteps behind her as she jumped from one rooftop to the next.

'If I can make it to the hall, I can disappear into the forest that lies behind the outer hall.'

She thought to herself as she quickly looked behind her to see how close the guards were. When she realise that they are closer than she thought, she cursed under her breath.

The three alphas knew that they could not let her get away or allow her to reach the outer hall of the palace. When they remember how close this woman came to kill the Empress and crown prince of the Celestial Kingdom, renewed anger curled inside them.

She had come too close to achieving it, and if they allowed her to escape now, she would try again and probably succeed.

Qin Shu could see the outer hall just up ahead, and a smirk adorned her lips, and she prepared herself for the final jump, which never came because a powerful wave of spiritual energy knocked her off balance and sending her off the roof and she making her fall of the roof and landed hard on the ground beneath her knocking the breath out her.

The three alphas jumped off behind her and landed in front of her with their swords pointing at her throat. The other guards soon join, and Qin Shu could only stare with anger as soon as she found herself able to breathe again. The three alphas looked down at the omega who sneered up at them, but they were not faze at all as they stared her down blank faces.

"Search her and relieve her from whatever weapons she has on her person."

Xue Yang ordered the guards, who quickly started to searched her. They took away her quiver and bow before they searched her for any hidden weapons. Each one they found they placed on the ground. Once they were done, Xue Yang kneeled before her.

"You have killed a dear friend of mine, and if it was up to me, I would kill you right here."

He said, not even concealing the anger that he felt.

"Then do it. Do you think I am afraid of dying?. I am just sorry that I did not succeed in killing that low life."

She sneered at Xue Yang with anger in her eyes and on her face.

"And for that, you will pay with your life omega. Not only did you try to kill the Empress but also the crown prince of the Celestial Kingdom, whose grandmother is the Queen."

Xue Yang said with a sinister smile on his face when he saw the omegas eyes went wide in her face when realization dawns on her. Xue Yang stood up and dusted his robes off before he nodded at the guards.

"Bind her."

He ordered before he looked at the two men standing to the side. They both gave him a small nod as the guards pulled a squealing Qin Shu up and bound her hands behind her back, not gently at all. Not much were said between the three alphas as they made their way back. Qin Shu spat curses at them as she tried to free herself.

Xue Yang sent a butterfly message to his friend, informing him that they had caught the omega.

Huaisang was still feeling guilty and blaming himself for what had happened even though the first prince kept on assuring that it was not his fault, so when he received the butterfly message, he felt immensely relieved.

"First prince, I have just received a message. They had caught her, and they were on their way back."

Huaisang informed the first prince.

"That's good news. I will inform the Emperor of the good news."

The first prince said as he patted Huaisang arm. Huaisang gave him a small nod before he stood up and made his way of the jingshi. The first prince watched him leave with a sad expression on his face. He knows that Huaisang blames himself for what had happened even though there is nothing that he could have done. He believed that the Empress and the Emperor would not blame him.
