I mopped the floor, in a daze as I sighed, slowly getting ready to open the store up despite the storm that was coming in..

It's been a week since I last seen Charlie..
I put the mop and cleaning supply away in the back, coming out to the front as I washed my hands at the sink.
I can't believe he just left
He just kissed me like that all of a sudden and then left..
It wasn't fair.

The chime rang as the door opened, ringing loudly to notify someone had stepped in.
I was tying my apron on, trying not to look as pathetic as I felt.
I forced my customer service smile on as I went to greet whatever crazy customer that wanted ice cream during a storm.
But it wasn't a customer.
And it wasn't Tara.

It was him.

He paused looking at me before glancing toward the floor, half avoiding me.
"Tara called out." He said , in a monotone voice as he went to the back to set his things down.
I blinked, called out?
She's never called out.
My phone chimed suddenly.
I took it out of my back pocket to check it quickly.

There on my Lock Screen a message had come through ....

Tara: Have fun Making up 💕

I closed my eyes and sighed , shaking my head as I tried not to laugh as I should have known she'd been planning something.

This girl..

Charlie came back to the front, tying his apron on as he started cleaning to keep busy, and to avoid me. We had absolutely no customers, and we weren't going to until this storm cleared.
But seeing as it just rolled in, that won't be any time soon.
Rain started to pour down Really hard, we both looked up from what we were doing to look at the front window.
The wind was really strong as the rain blew down hard, we could hear the heavy rain ontop of the roof above us.
We both went back to work , slowly.
"Thought you quit" I said suddenly, unable to help myself at this point with the uncomfortable silence.
I wanted answers.

"No.. still here" He said plainly, not looking at me.
Lightening striked as the rain grew harder, the lights flickered.
We both stopped to look up.
And all of a sudden both of our phones started buzzing and ringing.
"WARNING‼️
⚠️FLASH FLOOD ALERT: ⚠️
Stay Indoors. Do not go outside. Do not attempt to drive. Extreme winds and thunderstorm conditions are causing major power outages.
Take cover.
Prepare now."
We both got the same warning message. We looked up at each other .
"Does that mean we're closed?" He asked glancing out at the rain, thunder boomed loudly, the rain relentlessly crashing down.
Flooding was slowly starting to pool.
"For now, yes." I said, sighing as I hopped up on the counter , not caring.
He nodded.
He walked off toward the back room as I watched the storm intensify.
He came back out wearing his coat and his car keys in hand as he casually walked by me and toward the front door. My eyes widened,
"Wait! What are you doing? You can't leave?! Are you crazy?" I exclaimed , hopping off the counter to the other side.
He ignored me and opened the door as he walked out into the storm.
He headed toward his car, but I was able to catch up to him, stopping him before he got in.
"Are you fucking MAD?!" I yelled , placing my body in front of the driver door.
His hair and clothes were blowing around just like mine were. Rain was pouring hard ontop of us. The thunder booming loudly.
"Move" he yelled half heartedly, he held his car key in anticipation.
"Charlie it's too dangerous, we're not suppose to drive!" I yelled looking at him, my hand hovering above my eyes so I could see him past the rain.
His curls were damp now , sticking to his forehead.
My hair was drenched now too, and so we're our clothes.
He wouldn't look at me, and just stood there waiting for me to move.
"Get out of the way" he said impatiently trying to get around me.
"No! Get your ass back in the shop, before we get fucking electrocuted out here!!" Lightening struck as the wind howled loudly, flooding building up along the ground.
"No! I don't want to." He yelled crossing his arms.
I glared at him, and he glared at me right back, his brows serious.
I huffed.
"Fine! Have it your way" I yelled
