Summary: You and Garcia have been together for about a year, and every time you went out on dates, you'd either get dirty looks or homophobic remarks. As long as you two loved each other, that was all that mattered.

Warning(s): Homophobic remarks, profanity

---

"Penny, can we just stay in? I don't want to go out." You whine to your girlfriend, who sighed. "Y/n, we've been staying in a lot. Why don't we just go out for a change? You and I both need it." You shook your head, "I want that too, but every time we do, there's always a homophobic person that tells us that our love is disgusting."

"I'll tell them to fuck off. It's that easy." Penelope shrugged, pecking your lips. "If anyone says anything, I'll handle it, okay?"

You took a deep breath, and exhaled as you nodded and Penelope smiled. "Great. Where do you want to go?"

---

You both settled on Olive Garden, and went in and took your seats. "So far, so good, babe." She assures you with a wink as she began to look over the menu. The waiter finally came over, and he smiled at you, ignoring Penelope completely, well, for the most part. "Hi there gorgeous. What can I get you and your friend to drink?"

You were uncomfortable, but you decided to ignore his comment. "Um, I'll just take an iced tea. Penny, what are you going to have?" You ask her, rubbing her hand. The waiter noticed and raised his eyebrow but left it alone for now. "A strawberry Margarita." She says, and the waiter nodded, writing down their drink orders and walked off.

"He called me gorgeous." You chuckled, and Penelope shrugged. "He's not lying. As long as he doesn't badger you, I think we'll be fine."

A few minutes later, the waiter came back and put your drinks down. "You ready to order?" He asks, and Penelope cleared her throat. "Yes, I'll take the baked spaghetti with a side of salad."

The waiter wrote down the order and then turned to you with a flirty smile, "And for you, beautiful?" With that, Penelope laced your fingers together, hoping to give this man the hint. "Um, I'll just take the lasagna, also with a salad." You say, and Penelope brought your hands to her lips and kissed them, making the waiter become disgusted. "So, you two-you're...lesbians?"

"Yes, is that a problem?" Penelope asks with a hint of annoyance in her tone.

"Well, yeah. What you two are doing is wrong and is basically against everything I believe in. Honestly, in my opinion, lesbians and gays should not be allowed anywhere except for hell, since that is where you two are going."

Ouch. You felt his words pierce through you, and Penelope glared at him. "Can you just go do your fucking job and bring us our food? While you're at it, I'd like to talk to your manager."

The waiter scoffed, "My manager believes what I believe in. I'm not getting you shit until you leave this restaurant."

"I'll be calling your home office then. Come on, Y/n, let's go." Penelope tells you as you both got up and headed out the door. "Hi, was everything to your liking?" A middle aged woman at the counter asks you as you were about to walk out. Penelope quickly turned around. "No. You have a very rude homophobic waiter who needs to be fired. He thinks it's okay to discriminate my girlfriend and I because we're not straight like him. Are you the manager?"

The woman seemed to be bewildered at what she just heard. "No, the manager is out on vacation right now but I have the assistant manager you can talk to. I do apologize for your experience." Penelope sighed heavily, about to say something when an older man walked by, seemingly the assistant manager. "Hi, I was just walking by and heard you needed assistance. What seems to be the problem?"

Penelope pointed at the waiter who was helping other customers, "That man should not be working for your company. He made a very rude remark to my girlfriend and I, and I don't feel comfortable in dining in your restaurant if that man is still employed."

"Oh my. Let me start this off by saying how sorry I am. I will have a very stern talk with him to make sure this doesn't happen again. What can I do to make this right? Can I give you a free dinner coupon for next time?"

You scoff, looking at Penelope who had the same look on her face.

"No, we're not coming here again. That waiter needs to be fired, and you need to retrain your employees on how not to discriminate against people, even if you don't share the same beliefs as them. Let's go, Penny." With that, the two of you walked out of the restaurant, hand in hand. Some people gave you dirty looks, but you both ignored it as you got back into the car.

As you sat in the passenger seat, you noticed some people who had just walked into the restaurant as you were speaking to the assistant manager walk out as well, not long after you and Penelope did. Before Penelope drove off, she rolled down the window as some girls came over.

"Hi there, you two didn't deserve what you went through in that restaurant. If you two love each other, keep loving each other. You're not doing anything wrong. Some people need to be educated on how the world works today." One of them says, and you and Penelope smiled at the strangers. "Thank you guys so much."

"Yeah we're not giving them our business if that's how they're going to treat people. You two are a beautiful couple. Ignore the people who think otherwise. They're not worth listening to."

"Thank you for your words. They mean a lot." You say as tears came to your eyes. You two said your goodbyes to the strangers as they went back to their cars and you and Penelope drove off. "Order a pizza and we'll just take it back home. We can go out another night, but after dealing with that, it really pissed me off and I just can't with anymore people today."

You smile, "At least we got support from those nice people."

Penelope nodded, "Yeah, that made my night."

With that, you ordered the pizza, picked it up and headed back home to have some nice quality time together.
